Gaga’s music is always going to be the synthesis of multiple genre influences thru the lens of pop, which is what I love about what she does and which is also why, to the OP’s point, I think it’s exciting to see how she uses to different genre pallets w/ each new album and I also agree that it’s better to approach it with an open mind This makes me think of Partynauseous or Cake Like that really extended that idea Edited October 27, 2024 by RAYA.core ╰☆╮𝙸𝚐𝚗𝚘𝚛𝚎 𝚊𝚕𝚕 𝚑𝚊𝚝𝚛𝚎𝚍 𝚊𝚗𝚍 𝚌𝚛𝚒𝚝𝚒𝚌𝚒𝚜𝚖. Yandere 570
As long as the beat slaps hard she can sing grunge as much as she prefers @carminemorriello
Versace 7,959
Tbh it feels like a modern BTW track to me. Only reason some may not see that is cause Gaga’s vocals have gotten deeper with age. Hence it won’t sound as nostalgic as it could. Hence nothing will truly sound as nostalgic cause the voice itself has undeniably changed. I still think that LG7 is a return to form in that she’s gonna let her freak out again, last time she wasn’t trying to play it safe was ARTPOP era imo.
Shadow 6,625
It seems to have a grungy, industrial sound like Nine Inch Nails/Marilyn Manson and gothic tones like Evanescence/the Pretty Reckless. Comparisons are lazy, i acknowledge, but it's where my mind goes when listening to Disease. Do your own research. 3

I don’t know why people are saying Hole (which it sounds nothing like) when it actually DOES sound like Nine Inch Nails/Trent Reznor. 2
Monet 949
She's been saying this since her documentary, but some fans just want her to recycle her old work and artistry
Future Lovers 6,903
Just now, Monet said: She's been saying this since her documentary, but some fans just want her to recycle her old work and artistry They do because they’re too afraid to branch out to anything new. There’s this segment of pop fans who’re afraid of anything that isn’t the pop they’re used to. It’s the musical equivalent of a child who only wants chicken nuggets. Schwerk 7,244
I'm so confused by many of the reactions on here. This song feels quintessential Gaga to me but in a fresh way. It reminds me of being at her live shows where the amped up guitars and drums give the music an extra layer that I love more than the recordings. As a fan since 2009 I'm living for this sound and I can't wait to hear it live. The only thing that doesn't do it for me are the lyrics, they are a bit too on the nose for me personally, but they're still good. I'm so glad it's not a Sour Candy rehashed pop girlie track. And no, this song has nothing to do with grunge or metal. She put a little growl into her vocals, that don't make a metal song. According to Gaga I'm a ****ing rad bitch
