Juanjo 1,926
Before anything, I don’t care about Gaga’s chart and GP success, the music is 100x more important. With that being said, in order to hopefully appease some of you 🙄, and put things into better perspective, and proving how ChatGPT is that b*tch when it comes to predicting, as it did with Disease’s sound (there’s another post about this), I asked it about Gaga’s silence. I fed it some information regarding Gaga’s lack of direct interaction regarding the single after its release, as well as the fact a MV isn’t out yet. I also gave it the stats on the song’s performance, so far. I then asked it for its most educated guess as to why Gaga has remained silent, and if her and label might have a trick up their sleeve. This is its response: “Lady Gaga’s decision to remain largely silent after releasing ‘Disease’ might be a strategic choice, aligning with the mystique and dark, edgy aesthetic of the single and era. Here are a few reasons why this approach could be intentional: 1. Building Anticipation and Mystery: Gaga has often used theatrics and suspense in her rollouts. Keeping her interaction minimal could be a way to create intrigue, making fans crave more information and speculate about what’s to come. The dark, intense vibe of ‘Disease’ fits well with a more enigmatic rollout, allowing the song and visuals to speak for themselves initially. 2. A Long-Game Rollout Plan: Since her album isn’t scheduled for release until February 2025, Gaga and her label might be spacing out content to maintain interest over the next few months. By holding back on the music video and remaining quiet, they could be setting up a more impactful, gradual release plan where each new piece of content generates fresh excitement. 3. Focus on Viral Appeal Over Immediate Chart Success: Instead of focusing on traditional metrics like streaming and chart placements in the first week, Gaga could be aiming for a slower-burn, word-of-mouth approach. This strategy can give the song time to build a viral moment organically, especially if the video or a live performance later down the line captures people’s attention in a big way. 4. Possibility of a Major Visual or Live Performance Reveal: Gaga might be planning a larger event or live performance to relaunch ‘Disease’ and maximize its impact. Considering her history with high-concept visuals and performances, she could be saving her energy for a big moment that could propel both the single and her upcoming album. 5. Testing Fan Loyalty and Engagement: By releasing ‘Disease’ without much fanfare or direct engagement, Gaga could be testing the fanbase’s organic support and laying the groundwork for a more interactive phase closer to the album drop. It’s a risky move, but it might allow her to gauge the true level of anticipation for her return. In short, this could very well be an intentional strategy to sustain interest in ‘Disease’ and set the stage for bigger reveals. Gaga and her team are likely aware of the fan concern and drop in streams, but may believe that once the visuals and more promotional content are out, the song will regain momentum. This approach aligns with the dark, moody aesthetic of ‘Disease,’ adding to the mystique and anticipation surrounding her new era.” I hope this makes some of ya’ll sleep better at night. PoshLife 16,903
I don't think the first reason makes sense. Like, once the song is out there's no more suspense or mystery. The MV might be great but I wouldn't say most people are in suspense for it. Two and three make sense to me. DWAS is still doing well and there's no reason Disease can't grow in popularity in the coming weeks with an MV release, late-night performance, etc. 2

LIKELADYAGAGA 4,068
I think DWAS missed #1 because they released all the promo in week one before the radio support kicked in. Disease is crushing the first two days on radio so I can see delaying the promo until they have a clear shot at a big peak on the hot 100. 1

LIKELADYAGAGA 4,068
Here's the thing. Gaga's team is always being told they're lazy. People loved Stupid Love's rollout and it ended up being a dud commercially. Gaga's team isn't just Bobby. It's interscope, one of the most powerful record labels in the world with the top strategists. There is a reason Gaga is STILL one of the biggest artists in the world.. There's a long-term strategy at play. The music video is not delayed because Gaga is sad. It's an intentional move to spread out the era and not use up all the promo at once. Especially if they know the music video is so good, it's going to go viral. Edited October 27 by LIKELADYAGAGA 2

Much of the Harlequin promo was lumped in with Joker’s. It also was always meant to be a condensed era that lasted for only 2-3 weeks, so of course they’re going to front load it with a bunch of stuff.
