It’s clear to me that the main single is gonna be the second single, otherwise why else release a lead 5 months away from the album. Second single is gonna be the main push for the album, get a Grammy performance probably and promoted alongside LG7 in TV appearances. So yes in a sense Disease feels like a promo single to keep Gaga in the minds of everyone from DWAS all the way up to LG7 in FEB 2025 but it’s still considered the lead nonetheless. I thought this but there were rumors she's bringing back short films. So she could have been teasing a snippet of a 10 minute video that includes 2-3 songs. Which would also explain why there's no video yet, not all the tracks are out. Doja Cat released the first single from Scarlet as a promo single too, so it's a direction the industry could be pursuing in some cases. Jokes aside, I'm very happy with Disease and it's sound. The song is going to be fine because the album seems to be one of her strongest works since Born This Way.
