In fairness, I don't at the moment recall what put me off so much about them, but its left such a bad taste in mouth that I know its not something petty.

Wouldn't those leftists just be anarchists? My annoyance is really at the kind of leftist that sits at a campus protest and complains online but doesn't actually do anything other than that. I view them as reachable, if tedious, people.

On January 20th of next year, either Kamala Harris or Donald Trump will be sworn in. I'm gonna do what I can to make sure it's her, and I'd do that even if I didn't like her 'cause it's just common sense.

Okay it's just shy of 2 hours, but still, long. The segment I'm referring to is about an 1:20:00 in, at the end of a section talking about Nietzsche's ideas of morality, retribution, and justice. The MLK quote, I think, was even a response to Nietzsche's ideas. But the large video is about the philosophy and social impact of envy and resentment.

It's absolutely fascinating that Nietzsche's own musing about the idea of power as evil is from Christian origins, ya know "blessed are the meek" and martyrs, etc. And how that came about because the ruling class at the time were polytheistic jocks who were oppressing the lower classes. So Nietzsche claims that Christianity is just the lower classes saying "Actually, we are the ones who will be rewarded in the end."

But I digress, the video continues to talk about how resentment plays a role in many political philosophies, especially leftists ones, and how that's not really sustainable or productive, as it leads to, as you said, principle over power. Hence the MLK quote, where he agrees that viewing power as evil is stupid, but that compassion is a necessary factor to a progressive philosophy as well.

The video probably explains it a lot better, and I might be misremembering and projecting my own thoughts as well.

Well, the thought is Trump will close around 44%-46% and Kamala will close around 51%-53%

But national polls can't really capture voter sentiment in the swing states, especially when all these averages have been cooked by over a hundred fake right wing polls.

You take out the garbage polls (including the outliers in Kamala's favor) and this race hasn't moved an inch since the debate where she was about 3.5% to 4% up. Even that number is likely undercounting her support just like 2022.

I've been obsessively watching some of these focus groups of undecided voters and they always break like 9-1 or 10-0 in Kamala's favor 'cause Trump is so deeply hated.

I mean, I hope I'm not setting myself up to be a clown on Nov 6th but I think Kamala takes it tbh.

This was the conventional wisdom and it stands to some extent. But the issue atm is polls are unreliable so we can't apply the wisdom to them.

A lot of political polling is formulated on specific conceptions of the electorate. Works brilliantly with stable voting behaviour which was the trend for the 20th century and the 00s.

But voters are more volatile than they have been for decades if not 100+ years.
