chewing on pearls 355
it really is like she put all of her past lead singles in a blender and it came out DISEASE. like, this is one of the most gaga songs ever. musical-theater-girl lower-east-side-gritty-pop-act fantasy-versus-reality pop. only she could make a song like this, and it's so recognizably gaga. I'm pleased!!

They said DWAS and Shallow would flop, that's all I have to say Literally no one said that though everybody said both would smash, despite being bothered by the crowed and “messy” sound of Shallow (I still am mad that we didn’t get the trailer version)

On the surface, the song is in the bedroom, but it is not difficult to imagine how it can also work in a large concert hall where thousands of equally devoted and misunderstood fans want nothing more than to be seen and healed by Queen Gaga." ""Disease" of course danced its way through all the security checks of the California Hit Ministry before it was released on the market. But a first single from a new Gaga album this far into her career would have liked to have signaled something a little more risky and unexpected." https://www.aftonbladet.se/nojesbladet/musik/a/mPz3vE/lady-gaga-disease-recension Last sentence has made me laugh 1

Or they said that DWAS wouldn't be a smash like Shallow lol.

Schwerk 6,983
I was scared the reviews would be bad because they hold her to such a high standard, but thank goodness they love it. I'm suprised GGD is so divided. This was the first time I hadn't heard any so called spoilers or leaks. I went in without false hope or expectations. I loved the song from the second I pressed play. I love how she uses her vocals in all these different ways in just one song and it still makes sense. The only thing that doesn't really grab me are the lyrics. They're good, but a bit more simple than I'm used to from her. On the other hand I know most people prefer this, so I don't mind much, but I miss the clever double meaning and wordplay of the Fame era sometimes. According to Gaga I'm a ****ing rad bitch 1
