or maybe then some ppl wil realize the nuance and complexity underneath her simple lyrics, that most ppl and even some of he fans completely miss and write it off as "basic" lol

please say it louder, i specially love the post chorus melody thats in the intro and outro, sound so hynotizing, i dont know about music theory but it sounds sort of middle eastern/egypsian, maybe it uses some of those scales, its so good, there's just nothing sounding like this in the mainstream music scene at all, and this is even uncharted territory for her

I'm honestly so happy and relieved.

The dark industrial sound, the production, her vocal performance and the catchy melodies and lyrics. 

It's DarGa and incredible. 

I am smiling, dancing and have goosebumps.

This is her best solo lead since Born This Way and Bad Romance.

It’s ok. She never releases great first singles. But it’s definetely on brand. I’m a little worried that it’s not very current- but We will see if it grows for me.

It's not for me. 

Lyrics are cheesy (even tho i loved "Stupid Love" from the get go cause she didn't take herself too seriously and was a fun song), she screams too much all throughout the song (even tho i usually love it when she does it but here it's just one note), it sounds like a random stan prompted an AI to create the "most gaga dark pop song".

Maybe i was too hyped when insiders teased that it was similar to several "Born This Way" songs? I don't recognize Born This Way in that song, no tea no shade but i get "Turn Off The Lights" Vol.3  

Hope it'll grow on me once the video is released. 

And happy that most of y'all like it ! I'll wait for the second single

I’m speechless honestly. I really am. It’s fūcking MINDBLOWING! I knew- I absolutely knew she had so much more to give these past few years! And here’s the proof.

 

Welcome to the Lady Gaga Renaissance!

DISEASE is filthy, vicious, sexy, trippy, unique… a bold and badass lead single choice.

It’s sooo Nine Inch Nails coded. (e.g. Closer), with hints of System Of A Down. The production is immaculate! The beat is SICK. Her voice is melting and mutating. Sweaty, hypnotic and so tasteful yet also sooo unapologetically Gaga. It literally sounds diseased! Like a fever dream.

 

I knew this new album was gonna be a big step up from her previous efforts but JESUS! I wasn’t expecting it to be this good!

I truly cannot wait for this album!!! Notorious Being, Abracadabra, Dance In The Shadows…..we have only just scratched the surface of this.. LG7 is gonna draw blood!

 

10/10 from me! And I’m a top-tier music snob and very hard to please!

Everything that led up to chorus is 🔥 and it's true to brand and what I needed from Ga for yearsss. It's dark, quirky and not anything you typically here in modern day pop (in a good way).

However the chorus just fell flat for me as I was expecting to be more explosive and have a much stronger hook to carry the song on stream and radio. 

Hence I'd say I'm more neutral ATP but I'm confident she has more tricks up her sleeves with her subsequent singles.

Well it's def a new sound for her, that in itself is a win already. 

It's new and not new at the same time, Idk how to describe it. The vibe is similar but she never sounded like this, vocals straight out of a heavy metal song.

I like it very much, it's deffinitely a grower, but it's not perfect IMO and it's not on par with her best work like TFM and BTW, but I guess that will never be topped.

I think my biggest problem with this song is this intentional halloween/creepy/horror melody at the beginning that sounds kind of gimmicky IMO.

Apart from this sound I love the electronic/industrial production, I love how she incorporated rock influences on this song, I love that it sounds completely different than anything she's ever done before, but it's still very Gaga.

I'm also disappointed that we didn't get the video together with the song

Back on topic: I went to Twitter to see other people's reactions, cause I was curious ; and I was very glad to see how positive the reception for the song is so far. 

It seems like a large portion of the pop fanbase, was waiting for GaGa to do darker music again. I feels like there was a need for someone to fill that void, to have a mainstream pop star bring the drama back.

Not on par with Bad Romance and Born This Way impact I would say but definitely better than Just Dance, Perfect Illusion, and Stupid Love. It was the same feeling when I first listened to Applause. I can't choose to put Disease or Applause for my top 3 fav of her lead single. 

This kinda gives me a throwback feeling but definitely it will give me the ARTPOP experience where I loved the other tracks in the album rather than the lead single itself. Im more excited on how Dance in The Shadow, Notorious Being and Abracadabra sound like.

I just love how Gaga always pulls the rug from beneath her fans feet. So many people on here don’t like the song I really can’t 

She’s a master of subversion and innovation and fans still can’t get their heads around that. Kinda baffled by it honestly. This new song is a bold and bizarre triumph, made by young, cutting-edge producers who have far better taste in music than most of us on here. Gaga seriously needed to up the stakes and she’s done just that! This is so much more than just a pop hit. Like, get on the right side of the future guys. Come on!

 

Also remember, Gaga’s lead singles are never the best songs from her albums. We have so much more to look forward to, so at least try and see the potential this new song brings.
