It’s so f*cking good!

This coming from a Joanne-ster/someone who often prefers LightGa.

I absolutely love it. The slower thumping beat, the instruments, and the way she sings out! 11/10

G U C C I

I’ve only heard pieces of the song because I knew with this being another “dance” song and the underwhelming lyrics she posted that I wouldn’t immediately love it. I am waiting to listen to it all the way through WITH the music video! Most of her discography for me is so enhanced by the visuals and either iconic performances or the stunning videos.

That being said the pieces on edits and posted on Twitter sound to have the same issues as most of her recent solo work. The vocals do not blend well with the instrumental and the stylistic choices in singing need better mixing in the final product to not be overly grating for me.

I love all the positive reviews and that there are so many who seem to love it but this particular song just probably won’t be for me and that’s fine. I’m sure the album will have a few. I still think from what I’ve heard and the photos released it is a better quality lead than stupid love.

Ok? That's not Gaga's lane lol. She is the artist singer-songwriter, not the feel good guilty pleasure pop star. Her peers are Charli, Billie and Chappell. Now tell me honestly that Disease measures up to where they are heading?

And this is not an attack lol. Those are just my thoughts. I think she's falling behind and is growingly associated with standalone releases vs. creating interesting pieces of work that people take seriously even without big promo campaigns.

I do think this lacks her original spark, hence the lyrics being typical, but vocally it’s a level above those peers you listed.

That said, we’re trying to compare one single from one artist to whole albums from peers. 360 was fun on launch but it wasn’t really that indicative of brat. Let her cook!

Charli and Chappell are having a moment where they’ve slipped into “straight mainstream” culture. Chappell in particular feels fresh in the straight world but her music sits at the same vibe as stuff from Caroline Kingsbury, MUNA, Rina, Caroline Polachek etc.

I do wonder if Gaga really wants to do pop right now. Both 1000 Doves/Chromatica and this new album were introduced as “well I wanted to do a ballad, but XYZ convinced me to do a pop record”. I feel like ARTPOP did something to her.

Still, this is a bop and LG7 is going to be epic!

AMAZING!!!! Perhaps her least GP-friendly lead, but one of the best of her career. I heard someone describe it as Bloody Mary Jane Holland and I think that’s such a cool way of describing it. If this is just the lead single then I can’t imagine what other experimental masterpieces are waiting for us on the album

I literally woke up at 6 am just to listen to this song. First play, and I’m like… what's going on?  Second listen, and wow, a total banger!

Her voice is insane! and that ‘ahhh’ part? catchy. The outro? Even catchier!

The best part is that wtf moment on the first listen. I had the same feeling when I heard songs like Poker Face, Heavy Metal Lover, and Bloody Mary for the first time. The lyrics are weird and awesome, the production’s next-level. This song just screams Gaga.

Come come, unwrapp me!

Interesting track, but not brilliant, nor a banger in my opinion.

The main problem Is that it is not radio-friendly at all, nor particularly strong. And that's a tragic choice for the lead single of a huge pop star as Gaga.

Let's be realistic, one of the main goals of a (legendary) pop icon as Gaga is is to reach the biggest number of people (coherently with her target). Well, I feel like the engagement with the song is just very poor for me and I am a long-time fan (and love experimental Gaga, just look at my nickname). Sadly, I think that I'm not the only one feeling like that (I've seen the same reaction in both Gaga's fans and gp)

Also, I find just unprofessional that her fiancé is credited as cowriter in her lead single, like seriously?!

NEVERTHELESS, I am confident in the gems that LG7 will contain (loving the Abracadabra and DITS snippets) :ally:

It gives me what I feel live-Gaga gives me. Vocal power, chaos, playfulness, and passion. This live quality does not often appear in her studio tracks, so I’m absolutely in love with this.

I can’t stop listening to it. I loved it first listen but it’s also really growing on me. I LOVE darkpop and I’ve always known Gaga could master it.
Soooo obsessed with her voice and the Ohhohohohohohohaahhh harmonies. Can’t stop listening.
And the production? Don’t even get me started. Amazing.

I'm an ARTPOP bitch, baby

this album is going to be her very own Ray of Light, and that's a compliment since ROL is the greatest Madonna album imo

btw something in my mind just isn't able to not think there's a middle eastern or indian influence in her melodic ah-ah-aaahs
