Dr Fudge 8,596
I think a lot of us have been especially excited by the release of disease and LG7 and I haven’t been able to completely pinpoint why until today. This might be a total duh to some fans but for newer fans, after the backlash faced for ARTPOP I really didn’t know if her passion for pop music would ever be the same. Chromatica was definitely Gaga testing the waters again, given her 7 year gap between proper pop albums, which felt like a test that Gaga needed to pass for herself. Chromatica, to me, seemed like a key to unlock something lost in her long ago. Her confidence is so back which makes me feel like the release of disease is going to be something special. Not that Chromatica isn’t great in its own right, but it feels like it was an important stepping stone for getting to today. I’m so ready for disease y’all we made it! let’s get filthy Been a cuff touple, a puff bupple, a tough couple of years. 9 1

Lucas 24,258
People are so hyped because it's her return to her dark roots, aka what made us fall in love with her in the 1st place. This and the comparisons with the Born This Way album which is BY FAR her best album to this day ♥. I really want her to say F*CK OFF to the music industry standards with the album, give us long songs and horror themes, gore/scary visuals etc... which are rarely exploited in POP music. I hope nothing more than seeing HER OWN vision for this album without being limitated by the industry standards. And I don't know if that's possible for her to be this unrestricted in this industry, but we'll see. We have very popular no-****s-given acts around nowadays so hopefully she was inspired to reach for authenticity. And I don't think she would ever repeat herself aka serve another Government Hooker or Scheisse. This will be different. I think it was partly the creation of the ball, Joker, and songs like Judas, Bloody Mary, and Government Hooker going viral
GerMonsterNotta 709
Looking back and from all the interviews I feel like Chromatica, although a great album, and on a whole a success even despite covid - this is an album born out of sadness and pain…. She was trying to find Gaga pop again - but it came out sad!!! Ie Fun tonight, ROM… Now she’s more centred and actually got to a place of acceptance through Michael …. Now she can be Gaga, with a healed heart, rather than a broken one like before ❤️🩹 Edited October 24 by GerMonsterNotta
LadyGagasGodSon 395
I don’t necessarily agree that Chromatica was her testing the waters. I think it was more like her reflecting back to how people treated her and her art back in ARTPOP and even Joanne—i.e., “my name isn’t Alice… I’m not a plastic doll… when I was young I searched for lightning… I’m not having fun tonight… babble on… wanting to fly like a 1000 doves… my biggest enemy is me pop a 911” etc. Once she’s processed and debriefed all of that experiences and emotions, and is now in a loving place (Michael!), I do agree that now she may have felt like she could write from a POV that she once was coming from—a viewpoint that is quirky, gaga, crazy, dark but camp and cheeky, and confident. And importantly, fun for HER. You are small men. You are not worthy to rule the Dothraki.
