Would've been unthinkable just a few years ago. But I guess we've seen how much the people really want and miss those music videos from Beyonce. It was the "video for every song" concept that got her so much attention, relevance and adoration. So, when she stopped doing that, it showed. It's so strange that she just seemed to no longer be bothered and just wanted to let the music speak for itself. How can someone go from being so passionate about visuals to giving us nothing? I'd expected it just to be a one-off idea but when she did the same with Lemonade, it set up an expectation. Now she's realising how tiring it is and wants a break. It was odd how Renaissance, an album that gave way to so many potential visuals, had not a single video, not even the lyric videos were visualisers. And with Cowboy Carter, in addition to that, there has been no additional promo and no tour, which has led to the era having nothing else to give.

Is she really not going to tour with this? Seems unlikely at this point and considering how much her last tour tickets were, she can't really drain her fans wallets again just 2 years later and then another 2 years after that when she (apparently) puts out the third album in this trilogy. This was always going to be a more niche sound for her. But I am interested in how a rock album could sound as that must surely be the next genre she's ready to reclaim.

I'm sure Gaga's going to heavily promote this and she laid down a good foundation by getting a hit with DWAS just beforehand. And she will tour with it. All this is going to be keep the audience intrigued. We already know the lead has a video. She's not going to drop an entire album with no visuals and no tour and then just expect it to sell.

To think, Chromatica just scraped an 80 and it had been almost a week and we thought that was the final score...and then one critic came in with a slightly lower score. It felt almost deliberate. Absolutely criminal that she still hasn't achieved this when she's the most artistic MPG.

Critics loved Chromatica waaay more than I expected tbh.

I'm hoping the same. It confused me too why the critics were suddenly all over Brat despite it sounding not unlike what Charli's been giving us for years. And yes, I was pleasantly surprised how much they liked Chromatica even though I don't think it was on the level of previous releases. That's what told me right there that times were definitely changing. I mean, even Lana, who critics were very mixed about in the beginning, is now getting scores in the 80's for every album. It shows she's really earned the respect and Gaga definitely has that. It's a bit funny how critics are so easily impressed these days and are giving albums 80's like it's Christmas whereas they used to be so strict in the past but hey, when they do it for Gaga, I'll see it as retribution for their years of underappreciation.

That's aight, it's still on repeat in this household. Fantastic album that I'm thinking (hoping? fantasizing?) will get some more love when she drops act iii and tours them both.

that + the album has no replay value for me, considering it was already finished even before Renaissance came out (allegedly)…it feels like she woke up some day and randomly decided to put out a bunch of old songs just to make a cute profit since they were already done

The lack of singles is so weird to me. I really think Bodyguard and Levi's Jeans could have been big hits.
