Paul Heaton is gearing up for his first solo UK Number 1 album with The Mighty Several leading the charge to top the Official Albums Chart this week.

Charli xcx’s BRAT could return to its peak in the Top 10 (2), thanks to the release of remix project Brat and it’s completely different but also still brat, featuring the likes of Ariana Grande, The 1975 and Shygirl.

After its release on physical formats, Lady Gaga’s soundtrack album Harlequin is set to vault back into the chart at Number 5.

1. Paul Heaton - The Mighty Several (23,026 units) [22,385 physicals, 453 downloads, 188 streaming]
2. Charli xcx - BRAT (15,832)
3. Sabrina Carpenter - Short n' Sweet (5,693)
4. James Blunt - Back to Bedlam (5,457)
5. Lady Gaga - Harlequin (5,212)

What’s wrong with UK Huns? You have a second chance to make this album a number-one record in the country and you choose… who it was again?

they might say that we're crazy, but i’m just in 🖤 with u

Slay! That's amazing considering this album had no promo in the UK (apart from a Graham Norton interview where she didn't even perform any songs from it), has been out for over 2 weeks now and only peaked at #59 on its debut week. I didn't know a physical release would make this much of an impact! Shows her fans did like it even after the movie flopped.

It's beyond me how their albums perform so badly yet their tours sell out with millions of tickets all over the world. They haven't even been a massive success in their home country for years, yet artists who have hit singles and sell more albums than them can't get those same audience figures. It's bizarre.

Paul Heaton is a long-time success in the UK. He was part of 2 successful bands, The Housemartins and The Beautiful South, who made lots of hits. As a soloist, his last 5 albums went top 10 with the most recent two peaking at #1, so it's no surprise really.
