Great Videos Defending JFAD

This guy does a GREAT job highlighting the positive aspects of the film. I watch his channel often, he watches and reviews all kind of movies and shows and has interesting commentary. He's been reacting to AHS and loved Gaga in Hotel. In his review he actually gave Joker a 9.5 out of 10 :bradley: I highly recommend this video, he puts the themes of the film into perspective very clearly.

This next guy is a big DC fan. He's more lukewarm on the movie (giving it a 3 out of 5) but still gives it flowers where it deserves them, and explains how the controversial ending has a purpose and meaning. Although I don't agree with all his interpretations.

This last guy is also a massive DC fanboy and leading up to the film, he made countless videos breaking down all the set photos and clues, highly anticipating the movie. He's not in love with the movie but can intelligently deconstruct it, despite most fanboys blindly hating.

Just wanted to share that despite the critical and box office failure, there is a portion of the audience who appreciated the strange approach and subversion of expectations. I anticipate this audience will grow over time as the initial conversation dies out and people later reflect on the movie for what it is, instead of what it could have been. We might have a cult classic on our hands. :cheeky:

In ten years time, you'll see Youtube videos like:

"I was wrong about Joker 2!!!"

'Why Joker 2 is actually a masterpiece'

I honestly believe as the months go by we’ll see a shift in the way it’s being viewed. There’s a clear hate train and once it settles we’ll be seeing more support for the ideas the film portrayed.

There are a ton of videos on TikTok about how everyone hating on it has it wrong, I’m so thankful that things are turning around & people are showing some media literacy

I can't be free if my hands are tied... 🧟‍♀️👰🏻

You can never take Critics scores too seriously on RottenTomatoes.  But, the AUDIENCE score is 31%.

This is a situation of, "better luck next time".

If you're one of the 31% of people who got it and liked it, that's great.  But :awkney:

That 2nd guy is mega hot--sucker for gingers here. I followed a lot of his reviews and reactions to stuff earlier this year especially X-Men '97. He definitely knows his comic book material.

This would piss me off cuz at that point their opinions won't matter anymore so they can keep it. The fan service for ARTPOP pisses me off cuz part of me feels like if you didn't support in 2013 or activity joined the hate train don't back track now, it's not needed :triggered:

The good news of this is that it will pass and she will have better moments later on, ARTPOP was at the late beginning of her career

The audience score that anyone can add to? That’s the one you want to take seriously?

I’m not saying it’s perfect, I'm just saying that it not being appreciated today doesn’t mean it isn’t good. The Shining was hated back in the day. Blade Runner, Fight Club, 2001, all seen as cult classics now but hated and disregarded in their day. Joker 2 will have its moment to shine, it just won’t be today.

I can't be free if my hands are tied... 🧟‍♀️👰🏻
