StrawberryBlond 14,123
From beginning to end... - Harley telling Joker "I hope this guy blows his brains out...and then you did." The deadness in those eyes, the deadpan tone, the steadiness of the gaze, the no blinking...CHILLS. - Harley and Joker running away from the fire, dancing together and trying to climb the chainlink fence. That was one of the few moments in the film where things felt bigger and not contained. - Harley putting on Joker's make up and them doing it afterwards. I felt that was her best sex scene yet in the sense of it was the most classy and also the most realistic (not what you'd expect for a film with this certificate and edginess) and I appreciate that, unlike her other two, she did it all without being in a state of undress. - The musical sequence where Joker complains about not giving the people what they want. Here is one of the best moments of the Joker/Harley dynamic and it's so well-illustrated. - Harley telling reporters that after the trial is over that they're going to build a mountain and someone shouts "what does that even mean?" One of the rare genuinely funny moments that lightened the mood. - Harley meeting Joker for a talk through the glass panel. I love how you can see how seductive and charming she is while also blatantly lying and manipulating and the coldness of it all is chilling. And when she starts singing Close To You, it's so hypnotic and sad sounding. I'd like to think they use clips of this scene when it comes to segments showing the nominees during award season. - Gary's testimony. He was just so cut up and to hear Joker question him while talking like a preacher on the altar was so unhinged and to see him return Arthur's "you were the only one who was nice to me" in the original with the same sentiment was so sad. Though I had a guilty little chuckle to see Joker return to his notebook to see he'd scribbled PUDDLES?! all over it. It reminded me of the "15 spotted puddles stolen" moment in Disney's animated 101 Dalmatians! - The entire Gonna Build A Mountain sequence. That's the way every musical number should've looked from the beginning. - The final moment between Harley and Joker. It's so sad and sentimental and the awful way she just dismisses him is downright cold in the best way acting can be. - Joker singing If You Go Away down the phone to Harley. That was one of the most beautiful numbers and ended things in a very depressing but beautiful way. As I said before, there were many good moments and good ideas. Just a pity a lot weren't fully taken to the max. As you can see, 8/10 of the moments mentioned here involve Gaga. For just 34 minutes of screentime, she ate that and left no crumbs.
PartySick 146,011
Really a huge fan of the final Lee scene. Watching everything fall apart for Arthur as Lee just abandons him ruthlessly I'd go as far as to say it was even a little triggering (or at least it invoked very familiar emotions) when she was singing, almost looking past him, and he was begging her to just talk to him and stop singing 'cause he's so tired of the delusions and the character of "The Joker" that's born out of them. The man was begging for genuine connection and fell in love with someone who fawned over the fakest version of him Related, @Jase absolutely ruined me The fued is still on

That absolutely haunted look on Arthur's face while Lee does what she does has stayed with me over the past few days. Joaquin's one of those actors who can act with his face and he does it so tremendously.
