I said this in another thread, but I don't see how she would've known that her role was "cut down." I actually don't believe that her role was cut down that much and that she was always a supporting character. 

Let's think about the major scenes from the trailers that we know were cut: the one of them dancing on the stairs, the one of her singing That's Entertainment on the staircase, and the elevator shot. Maybe there's a couple more, but those are the big ones people keep talking about.

Regardless, none of those scenes would've elevated her role. The one of them dancing on the stairs of the courthouse would've been another musical sequence—and people are already complaining about those. Same with her singing That's Entertainment on the staircase. And actually, she does sing That's Entertainment in that scene, it's just a different take. She doesn't make a performance out of it, but she still sings the song. Lastly with the elevator shot, they could've shown her changing into that final outfit, but again, that doesn't do anything to elevate her role.

Imo she was always a supporting character. The only way she wasn't is if they literally cut out entire sequences of her. But based on the evidence we have, that wasn't the case.

Honestly everyone is loving and praising Gaga’s performance. She’s coming out untouched and on top. The movie not making money or a getting bad reviews have nothing to do with her or her artistry.

If she wouldn’t stand behind Harlequin she wouldn’t have recorded it. The idea of her sitting with Interscope getting told what to do is beyond 😅 She’s a once in a generation multi talented artist who’s now 38 years old and not some rando 20 something tictac one hit wonder singer

She wants to make money just as much as them though... She can stand behind Harlequin and still understand the necessity of these industry tactics.

No need to be naive. Interscope also milked the living **** out of ASIB. They seem to understand that Gaga playing in movies is just as compelling as an "era" than her musical ones. It makes no sense that they wouldn't have celebrated and doubled down on the opportunity to sell something that would make them money vs. Warner Bros. Why else do you think they booked her on Fallon and Zach lol.

Of course they are trying to make money, but the way you made it sound or at least how I received it gave the impression as she has no agency, that was my issue ☺️

Ofc she knew that they changed the direction of the movie. But I doubt she’s seen the final final cut before Venice. 
 

She’s like 15 years in the industry and by now I think she can smell if something will be a hit or a flop lol

House of gucci was definitely not a flop commercially, and neither is joker so far. And  The critics loved Gaga in both so it did good things for her career.

So what? Would you rather have one trash record with 20-30 songs after another every 18 months or an artist who’s happy, creative and not burned out? Also, none of these movies are „flops“ they might not have met the unrealistic and uncalled for hype by people who have no idea of the industry or expect just because she’s featured in them they will become record breaking never seen before success stories. It’s okay for a movie to perform „okay“..

I get a lot of y’all’s frustrations, but Gaga literally solidified herself as an A-list actress in these last 6 years, that’s a feat that some actors spend DECADES try (and failing) to accomplish. I don’t think Gaga (who has a net worth close to a BILLION dollars) frankly cares too much whether her future projects (both music and acting) hit or flop too hard. Based on what we heard, LG7 sounds so OUT THERE, Mother is gonna be delivering risky and exciting music and movies for the rest of her life and I am so here for it
