Perrie Edwards on her album: It takes you on journey. It’s not just mediocre whatever

As the recording process progressed, Perrie began experimenting with various styles of music. “I wanna explore now and then moving forward, I’ll know what works. At the moment, I’m just enjoying trying everything and seeing how it does. It’s fun to switch it up,” she says. “My idea of hell is someone getting my album being like, ‘Oh, have you heard her album? Every track sounds the same.’ I do not want that. That bores me. I want people to feel ‘I wanna be picked up,’ ‘I wanna dance,’ then ‘I wanna cry,’ and then ‘I wanna take you back up again.’ I think as far as genres go, there are influences of pop, a little bit of rock, a hint of punk, and a bit of country. I love it so much because it takes you on a journey. It’s not just mediocre whatever.” 

While the album is mostly finished, fans won’t hear it until 2025. Perrie is still making tweaks. “I’m such a perfectionist,” she laughs. “I keep having random ideas and then wanting to go back in and do things. So even though it’s done, I do keep adding bits here and there. But once the deadline hits, I can’t change anything. But until then, I’ve still got time to perfect it.”

Personally I loved all the singles, but I think Perrie can do better based on what she put out in LM. In fact I think Perrie in rock/country would actually work better for her voice than pop.
