"Nasally" is one of the most common critiques of her vocals and this album is definitely inspired by Babz. It's love it or hate it I guess but I'm pretty sure it's intentional Like this kind of thing?
Lady Palutena 3,134
I don't care if the album doesn't do well chart-wise. I feel like we should reach a point where Gaga doesn't feel the need to prove herself in the way that Katheryn Hudson does. That being said, even though a lot of the songs are not to my personal taste, Gaga does something with them that I catch myself humming along to them even while not actively listening to them. My favorite is Folie a Deux, it reminds me of Once Upon a Dream from Sleeping Beauty. Adoremus in caelum, Palutena. Dea luminis. 2 1

huttont 4,877
The Joker stands out like it doesn’t belong on the album but it is one of her best songs. World on a String and Close To You are my favorite

That’s how I feel about the whole album… kinda don’t know any of the original versions so Gaga’s version is now the one I know and love😅 1

Always here for metalGa. I live outside the space time continuum.

I mean, it’s not bad but I don’t think the way Gaga sang captures the tenderness and melodic vocals the song requires. Maybe it’s just me being too used to the original. 3 hours ago, Sneaky Oliver said: I don’t know the original, but I thought Gaga’s version was the cutest song she has ever released and the way she gives tenderness vibes by the way she sings is exactly why I liked it maybe the original is that x100?! 3 hours ago, Red said: I’m sure you’ve heard the original before and you don’t remember But it makes me feel like I’m floating to the heavens, it’s literally in my favorite songs playlist, I love when it comes on when I’m driving Yeah, having heard the original of a song for many years makes it more difficult to appreciate a new version. However, I think Gaga captured the beautiful mood of the song so very well that I love her version as well as the original. And way to go, Gaga, for mixing up the album stylistically by including that track. As usual, Gaga knows exactly what she's doing, and all we can do is remain her happy and grateful followers. Robert 244
I really like the album. The best songs are World on a string and Close to you. The production in World of a string is amazing, the melody is beautiful and her vocals are flawless. Close to you doesn’t seem a cover, she really made the song her own, it’s just perfect. My unpopular opinion is about Oh when the saints. I really enjoy the song and I love the rock n roll production, but I don’t like her vocals in this one. I don’t like the way she sings it. The rest of the album is amazing by the way 1 1 1
Oriane 19,617
I like Happy Mistake but the way everyone is acting as if it was her best and most vulnerable song ever If my friends could me see now is one of the highlights of the album but nobody's talking about it. I prefer the version of Smile she did during Covid. Gonna build a mountain is one of my least favorites but everyone here seems to love it. I see it's the least popular one on Spotify so maybe it's just a GGD thing You popped my heart seams, all my bubble dreams
