I thought they didn't use it, just the instrumental... I read somewhere that for a song to be elegible it has to be used in the movie or be the first song played during the credits... Is it the first one?

Gaga wrote this waltz and has mentioned it a few times in interviews. When I first listened to it, I had to stop and replay—it instantly grabbed me with its lyrics. The opening line, "Take my hand, stay here, my friend," immediately reminded me of Joanne: “Take my hand, stay Joanne, heaven’s not ready for you” — Joanne. Later in Folie à Deux, something caught my attention in the third verse when Gaga sings: “I know where we’re going, know where we’re going… and it’s a heaven.” It brought to mind the iconic lyric from Joanne: “Girl, where do you think you’re goin'? Girl, where do you think you're goin', goin', girl?" Another intriguing line follows the mention of heaven: "An island for when we’ll both settle in, a paradise." This made me wonder if we could finally be hearing Paradise, the long-rumoured jazz track she supposedly wrote during Cheek to Cheek. Do you think these similarities are just coincidences, or could the two songs be connected? Especially since Gaga referenced the JWT tape in the cover art, it feels like a deliberate choice of lyrics for the original waltz, which she describes as “falling apart” in the film—much like she did at the JWT. Thoughts on the song? I think it's beautiful and deserves more attention I love history with my fave era is belle epoque and this Folie a Deux or Harlequin Waltz (as it was rumoured to be called) really gives me impression of that time. It’s really good composition ❤️ they might say that we're crazy, but i’m just in ❤️ with u

Folie à Deux is one of my favorite tracks and I love everything about it. The musical composition, the time signature, the choir background! It sounds so church and magical! It’s impossible to listen to the first verse and not think about Joanne. There’s definitely a reference to it. And as you well pointed, she also refers to the Joanne era with the broken tape, which I understood as the representation of all the pain she went through in that period in her life The falling apart ideia is super interesting, I haven’t thought about it but it totally makes sense! I'm so glad I am not alone in it being a reference to Joanne. It's such an interesting time in her life and I hate the thought of her being in so much pain, so to see her on the other side now is so beautiful The melody that you choose can rescue you ♥
