What’s driving me crazy is that the chorus (especially very beginning of it) sounds so much like some other famous song… But which one? I can’t remember it, but it is VERY similar! Any thoughts on it? Edit: @Johnny Wayne solved the mystery for me: it’s “You Lost Me” by Christina Aguilera! omg thanks so much it was driving me crazy too. not Gaga being compared to xtina ten years after xtina was compared to her. Brazilwood 4,113
It's one of those songs that are so well written, and so good, in a way that it's not reinventing the wheel, but also not pastiche, and it sounds like something that you heard before, and it can be similar to other songs but you can't pinpoint one that is SUPER close. It's an amalgamation of things that work well and have been done before but with so much soul, it sounds like she channeled something and it came to her. Lots of her ballads give me this kind of feeling but this one is more intense. My brain keeps searching for the song that it sounds like. I love it so much. SummerGirl21 787
There is one specific part that sounds very similar to Always Remember Us This Way. I think she stole from herself and that’s completely fine by me lol.
NinaBoninaBrown 491
To me it sounds a lot like Cry that was used multiple times for Maddie's and Kenzie's solos in Dance Moms, especially the first seconds Edited September 28, 2024 by NinaBoninaBrown
GagaUnderYou 4,977
The original Chromatica would have been very interesting to hear. Bunch of ballads but it was really how she felt about fame. Happy Mistake 1000 Doves Fun Tonight

MOT 2,940
I get echoes of In My Life by The Beatles when she sings 'but the show must go on' the first time, and 'I can't look away', and 'happy mistake'. Someone else mentioned Millennium by Robbie Williams (which in turn sampled You Only Live Twice by Nancy Sinatra), and yes, definitely that.
