Bronco 5,775
65 feels low to me, her vocals and productions are great. Her original work should be recognised as truly brilliant song writing. But honestly with the exception of The Joker which she brings a unique edge to compared to the more well known covers, all of the covers are just okay. She sounds great as always, but she's essentially just signing them like every other jazz singer sings the standards. I feel like its a 70 personally. If she'd taken the approach she took on The Joker to all of the other covers it would be pushing significantly higher to me. I know she loves Jazz and the Great American song book, but I feel like at this point she's letting that love throttle her creative potential with Jazz music. Louvre 922
havent read a ton of this thread but I'd like to see pitchfork review the album, i think they'd give it somewhere around a 6-7. Idrgaf about scores but pitchfork typically writes extremely thoughtful, informative, context rich articles even if they are sometimes degrading and silly. They also are typically very nice to Gaga despite giving sometimes middling reviews, i think they like her more than they're willing to admit and they give her quite a bit of news coverage compared to other popstars. She just can't seem to win or catch a break with whatever she puts out. It's annoying because Gaga is a once-in-a-lifetime artist and talent like hers is taken too much for granted especially in a time where true artistry is extremely rare. Also if Taylor Swift or Beyoncé or literally anyone else dropped this body of work, it would be critically acclaimed and lauded. Personally, I'm just glad Gaga is happy and has found joy in creating music and art again. That's really all that matters to me as a fan. OMG literally. I get so mad at how they go to the washroom, take a sh*t and win an award for it For example TTPD literally felt like I was listening the 1 really long song that changed slightly over its entire 1 hour+ length and somehow its a master piece?

4BLAiNE 959
The fact we all know, deep down, that this would have a 95 average and a “she has trail-blazed the jazz / multi genre fusion” if it was made by certain other artists just confirms how phony this whole review system is these days. I’m going to be actively avoiding reviews for LG7 because I’ve actually finally realised my enjoyment of Gaga’s work is so much more fun without the white noise - especially seeing her have so much fun. It’s awesome! Her brilliance needs no more affirmation anyways.

(NEW) LG7 I will not be responsible for my behaviour my head is filled with broken mirrors, so many I can't look away
Government 71
It’s 69 now It’s rising Consequence says “Harlequin is interesting and stylistically excellent, but at the same time, it probably won’t float to the top in conversations around Lady Gaga’s best work. The irony there is that what might be just another another bright feather in her cap is on a level that many artists would aspire to create some day." They gave it a 75. 1 3

And 1989 sitting with a 95 or something… like sure its good but a 95? It’s AT BEST an 80 imo. Teenage Dream is significantly better and that has a 52 🤣 Edited September 27 by Lextyr97
chromaticainmyhead 6,348
Sometimes I wonder whether or not if she had a male bodypart that this work would be already condemned as a true classic bc of the legacy.. Imagine Bowie coming up with something like in the midst of a movie promotion lol I don't know if this could be a legit comparison but it really makes me think sometimes why she's constantly being undervalued and overseen even though she pretty damn everywhere fan-tas-tique, chic, freak, slaaaay

Out of her solo albums, Chromatica’s the highest and that’s at 79. TF has a 71, TFM has a 78, BTW has a 71, ARTPOP has a 61, and Joanne has a 67. They’re all too low imo and the fact chromatica has the highest mark is so weird... btw and tfm are both way better albums. 3
