There’s definitely demand here, and the capacity of the stadium isn’t equal the what’s in other states, the available seats for the 4 shows combined don’t even meet the overall seats for the Syd or Melb shows. I definitely give her kudos for doing shows here when most international acts ignore us completely. I know it's a much smaller venue so it's easier to sell out but isn't it just the presale that's sold out at this point in time? Of course smaller venues like this aren't above Katy, she's performed in Adelaide before and she doesn't have the demand for massive venues, so of course she can do them. If it was 4 stadium shows she was selling out, I'd be more impressed but as it stands, I don't think she's really sold out 33k tickets in one city at this stage of her career, I think this is just presale numbers they're citing as sold out. 12 hours ago, Bronco said: Pretty certain Katy's aussie dates are near entirely sold out. It's Australia, no one goes so the locals always turn up when someone does At this stage, it must just be presales, though. It's such an exaggeration to say that no one goes to Australia. Most artists go there every second tour at least. And plenty of artists have toured there last year, this year or are planning next year - Pink, Dua, Taylor, Kylie, Coldplay, Olivia, Billie, The Weeknd, Blackpink and more. Just because Gaga's paid them dust since 2014 doesn't mean everybody else has. If we want to talk about somewhere where nobody tours in anymore, how about the entire African continent. Even South Africa doesn't get a look in for about 90% of acts these days.

It isn’t presale, the shows are sold out, there’s only a handful of tickets left.

Even South Africa doesn't get a look in for about 90% of acts these days. Kylie is a local who lives in Australia & Blackpink are significantly more local than western acts. Olivia is only visiting Sydney & Melbourne. Not Perth, Brisbane or Adelaide. And didn't go on her first tour. Coldplay's current tour was there first full stadium or arena tour to visit Australia since the Mylo Xyloto tour in 2013. And also aren't doing dates in Brisbane or Adelaide and originally only visited Perth until they extended the current tour. Madonna famously didn't visit Australia between the Girlie Show in 1992 and the Rebel Heart tour in 2015. Hasn't been back since. P!nk is massive in Australia and with the exception of Taylor Swift on your list & Katy Perry, she was the only western pop act to consistently tour Down Under for the last 2 decades. Things are getting better in the post-covid touring economy because its a bigger earner than touring has literally ever been before so of course more acts are doing bigger world tours now. But it's not exaggerating to point out that international pop acts were a rarity for the last 2 decades - even locals are saying it on this thread lol
