Sneaky Oliver 22,062
“The popstar confidently returns with very little to say” That’s what bugs me the most. She had so many narratives she could cling to like giving birth and motherhood, her relationship with a famous man, approaching 40s but I feel like this album lacks narrative. I mean it’s there or they’re attempted to shove it down there with all the “love” themes but it feels way less evident than it could have been or it should have been, like Pitchfork said, it’s just a smoky outline. A casual listener would never guess she’s talking about her daughter in Lifetimes. It could be about anyone really. My ideas for an ideal Katy Perry comeback album in 2024 would be: 1. A “California Gurls” kind of song about being a woman over 30s, she’s famous for self esteem songs like Roar and Firework, it could have a “rock pop” style like Olivia Rodrigo songs but also reminiscent of One Of The Boys era 2. A “The One That Got Away” kind of song about giving birth and raising your child, her insecurities as a mother, the good and the bad 3. A song about her relationship with Orlando (she could have promoted it as “revealing” or something) sort of like “Never Really Over” 4. A dance pop track to feed the gays like “Walking On Air” about living the best life you can kind of message

RoadToLouis 145
I think they nailed it with their comment on how little 143 has to say, and in my opinion that’s the album’s biggest sin. It doesn’t show growth, it doesn’t add anything interesting to her career and it just feels empty and superficial. You can make a fun record while also having something to say.

Economy 49,531
Honestly, im fine with this rating. Its a flat album that isnt exactly a master piece but some of yall saying it should be even lower i think are being a lil too harsh There are a few bops like Gimme Gimme Gimme, Crush and I really like Truth as well Im His Hes Mine and Gorgeous I think are at least decent. Womans World setting aside the Dr Luke controversy at the very least is a bit catchy Im really bored by Lifetimes, Wonder, Nirvana and Artificial tho Basically I do like about 50% of the album

After this amazing, iconic read that is absolutely one for the history books, this was either their last hur-rah or their rebirth. Who knows! Frankly, I hope they keep serving up content like this because it is incredible!
