I'm sure within the context of the film, all the songs will make sense and will get a new dimension. But I'm glad it's out, it's basically another jazz album in her discography, but with more edge than the previous ones. I'm halfway through it, and she sounds happy, you can tell this is a genre that's close to her heart, and she enjoys singing. It's funny that it is the soundtrack for a dark film, cause it feels like such a happy, joyous album . It feels very fresh, and spontaneous. She also does sound "in character" at times. It's very clear that she recorded these "as Harley", which is cool. IDK, I think it's a fun album, that adds variety and depth to her discography. It feels like a continuation of what she started with Tony; she sounds free and comfortable. It kinda made me curious about the film too. I'm not a jazz fan, but it's a pleasant album to listen to. The ballads feel a bit Norah Jones-ish, which reminded me of that old recording of her singing at an event, and the presenter was like "Norah Jones watch out!", if she only knew, lol 🩷.
