As well as it likely being in a different genre/sound and theme from her pop albums. I think she likely is using it as a way to show that it’s an album just not her next pop album/era.

I think/hope it'll be today. iirc she's going to be filming tomorrow for her Graham Norton appearance later this week, and I assume she's going to talk a little about LG6.5 then. So, she really only has today to announce something. 

Also, something interesting of note is that she posted 2 teasers on Instagram yesterday ("Moondust gets everywhere" and "Still not October"). I think she posted twice so that her next post (hopefully the formal announcement) would fill out the grid nicely.
