It is just very grand, grand in both a Gaga way + fitting to the movie vibe. Not so sure about Happy Mistake though. I love it but i can't see the GP resonnate with it. I could be wrong Is pure JAZZ… it will not get viral at all.. maybe Joker…
SpookyKid 15,151
Just listened for the first time… I just love this woman and her creative output Really loved every single song, Joker is definitely the standout tho, would love for her to explore that kind of sound even more But all the songs are great, the arrangements are wonderful and, her voice? omg. Haven’t heard her sing like this on an album like, ever. So excited for LG7 Probably spending money I dont have and getting the vinyl tomorrow Life has a hopeful undertone |-/
Locke 303
People keep saying it’s jazz it’s jazz but clearly she gives a unique touch to the songs which has an element of rock. Her voice is so free and clean and happy?! also, thinking of how proud Tony would be makes me want to cry, and she honours him on the cover. Guest
Why is so jazzy that? The Joker is so good, but rest songs isn't my type

rinasawachanta 2,945
I definitely need to give it another listen. But from the first one I can say that I was very surprised that it's so anchored in jazz and that jazz.... To my ears it came out too cheerful, strident and sung in the way we are already used to, something that doesn't have much to do with the snippets she uploaded to instagram along with the phrases, nor with the idea she suggested of having allowed herself to experiment sonically in this opportunity, nor with the art of the cover. I think this album was a chance to try something new, to truly sing in a different way (like the performance of Bad Romance during the last date of Jazz & Piano). To do jazz versions, yes, but more subtle and that the voice is not all over the place competing with a trumpet. The most interesting songs are, in my opinion, the less jazzy ones. Or even a track like The Joker, where the voice goes in crescendo but the instrumental is a little more stripped down, which makes it much more pleasant to listen to. I don't know, I felt a kind of saturation especially with the first part of the album. Scar97 1,613
I really need to see Gonna Build A Mountain live with a full choir. Make it her next iconic tribute performance. Please Lucifer I need this
OrL 40
I think she’s a musician and artist at her core. and in the past she had access to express parts of her soul, like bravery, joy, rebelliousness and of course our favorite sphere: darkness but now, through her voice in this whole album, she’s able to reach all of her parts and more, like she has a whole universe inside her that she’s playing with and sharing that with us. She is giving so many styles and diverse techniques with her voice, she’s playing with it and the master of it, she’s the master of her voice. And I guess it’s happening now when she’s happy and healthy and in love… 2

Guest
The Joker, Folie A Deux and Happy Mistake are my top 3. But I love all the songs. Her performance of them is excellent. This is my favorite of her side project releases (I'm including ASIB, LFS, C2C in that). Edited September 27, 2024 by Agunimon
