Apparently Gaga originally had more screen time and was promoted as a co lead. However post production where Joaquin was more involved her scenes were cut short to make it more of Joker’s narrative. *ALLEGEDLY*

No, I really don't think so. They most likely simply cut a bit of the stairs dancing scene and fans twisted it and started screaming bloody murder for WB trying to sabotage Gaga's acting. It wouldn't be nothing new lol

It was known that filming started earlier without Gaga. So it was always kind of known that the role would be smaller than Joker's. Where there's fuel to the fire on the idea of scenes being edited out, is that scenes in a trailer and leaks from public filming aren't used in the final film.

This isn't all that surprising. Plenty of scenes from trailers don't make the cut and alternative endings can be filmed that are red herrings to avoid spoilers. 

Yesterday there were the snippets from the Joker press junket. Where it doesn't look like Gaga and Phoenix are doing interviews together. Then the private screening where she was the only cast member, but going by the PR doesn't seem to have been part of the Joker marketing campaign. Does give the impression that Gaga's the only one promoting the film right now.

The smaller cast and Joaquin being a notorious awkward promoter, people were going to be disappointed by the Joker press cycle compared to ASIB and HOG.

The movie is called Joker:FAD and not Joker & Harley: FAD

She's the key for his madness in this movie but it's his madness.

I think you guys had a lot of expectations without actually understanding the role of Harley in this adaption (and many of the other adaptions), which is a mistake of people who didn't read the comics does.

My understanding is that this was an invite-only event for selected Little Monsters. It was not a general press conference for journalists. So the idea that the merch would be for LG7 is not unthinkable. She's combining these two projects in promo so it would make sense.

Yeah, but in ASIB, even though Ally is the “star” that is “born,” Jackson has enough screen time to be considered the leading actor.
