I've entered periods of depression when my life changes too quickly to process it. Totally get how that can happen. If someone shares that they've been diagnosed with or are suffering from depression and you immediately go "hmm, I don't know", that's devastating and completely invalidates the person. It doesn't matter if it's a celebrity, a family member, or even your best friend - please don't assume a person has an angle, or are being in some way manipulative for sharing this information. I literally just saw a video of her trying to recall some songs of the past few years and she was struggling with brain fog and zoning out. I totally believe she’s dealing with this and that it’s not a marketing scheme. But I see how some would think so because of all the things she’s been saying lately.
