JohnnyVersace 8,781
Been thinking this for a while now! People who shout that Gaga should work with RedOne, Tara Savello, DJWS, etc. are missing the point. Gaga is an artist who works with longtime collaborators (Freddy, Nicola, Bobby) that she trusts, and new people as she moves forward. Regressing back to former collaborators would likely not allow her to push forward and create the art she wants. My opinion with Gaga is just enjoy what she gives you because it's highly intentional. Clamoring for what could have been is just a waste of time and energy. We're about to likely get something that Gesaffelstein has touched, we don't need RedOne right now lol 3
doraemon 918
Katy Perry Struggles to Reclaim Past Glory on the Flat ‘143’: Album Review "'143' strips away the remnants of the perky personality that catapulted [Katy] Perry into early 2010s superstardom. The album is flat, coasting on cascades of lyrical cliches and musical ideas that rarely crest." The main difference you're all forgetting is Gaga is constantly evolving. I believe if they work together they could still repeat the PF and BR success but that's just my opinion. Gaga evolves but does RedOne? I've not heard much of his other work but everything I have heard sounds kind of dated and not varied enough. I would love for her to work with somebody she never has before. Or flex her own production muscles!

I think I'm done wanting Gaga to reunite with RedOne, you can never fully recreate the magic again. There's a lot of parameters that come into play other than having the two people in the studio. Even Max Martin and the felon couldn't save 143 Who is the felon????

Gaga is the one who brings the magic out of RedOne, so we would be fine I hope they reconect someday and give us a few more classics, but not trying to revive her past glory days a la katy, but show showing us their evolution
HausOfAntonio 7,995
She didn’t realise it was Bonnie McKee and not Dr. L*ke who made her early career bangers. That’s who she should’ve reunited with.

Or flex her own production muscles! Well to be fair I feel like when she first started she did not have much control over the production of her songs. But as Gaga and RedOne worked era after era, their collaborations also evolved with her equally contributing. You can see it in her TF era interviews with how they made Just Dance and then later on when she worked with him on BR. RedOne is mostly working with newer artists. (Using the term "mostly" loosely here). But imo labels often just pair him with new artists as a stepping stone for their exposure. But once he develops a closer relationship with people he works with, you can see growth in their work. Sure it may sound dated at times but you can see the artist's direction on it too. I'll lift you 3 inches off the ground and drag you to a meter and a half
Creyk 17,001
I fully believe they would create amazing bangers if they worked together again. But sadly it is never going to happen. Oh and by the way a RedOne produced song just crossed 1 billion streams yesterday so it's not like he only makes hits with Gaga.

StrawberryBlond 14,088
Keeping with the same producers always makes your sound stale after a few albums. Most producers go through a golden period where they can do no wrong but lose their touch over time. And yes, RedOne was not immune to that, except for when he made Ava Max's Kings And Queens. He doesn't really make much music at all these days either likely because he knew he'd had his peak. Even if it hadn't been for the allegations, Dr Luke was likely due to stand having a dip in popularity and we can see his recent output with Katy is such a low level of quality to what he once did. Max Martin is also not quite as amazing as he used to be. There's a reason why the most popular producers of the day (for those too young to remember, names like JellyBean Beneitez and Stock, Aitken and Waterman used to be the biggest names in the 80's) end up fading away never to be heard of again. When a particular sound is no longer popular, they flounder and struggle to adapt. Yes, Gaga and RedOne make magic together but she's always developing as an artist and can't stay in a comfort zone for too long.
