Pandacadabra 8,516
Final Destination: Bloodlines I dont know where this falls on the Final Destination movies. I remember the 1st one was the plane with Devon Sawa, the 2nd one was the logs(?) / road, I remember a race track for 3rd or 4th. I dont remember them I have to rewatch the old ones but I will say this one is very entertaining and one of the actors is someone from my favorite but now cancelled series, Chucky. I have to give it to whoever wrote or visualised the death scenes because they really thought that through. I want to rank the death scenes when its released on digital. 1

imnotyourbabe10 6,093
Hey fellow horror Little Monsters. Love the updates in the thread. Saw a few delightful horrors this last week 1) Possession (1981): probably a new all-time favorite. The acting is remarkable - as is the cinematography and score. There’s some kind of Lovecraftian and mother horror - but the demise of the relationship/infidelity is so authentic and disturbing (the movie is if like Midsommar meets Hellraiser, imho). Also, it works well as a political metaphor. 5/5 for me 2) Exhuma: an awesome S. Korean folk-horror involving Geomancing, shamanism, and spirits. Its pacing was a bit slow but beautifully shot, good acting, and score. Still need to read up on the socio-historical-political context of it (won’t say much about that because of spoilers). 4/5 3) Beau is Afraid: I love Ari Aster and this is my least favorite of his sadly. It is a very surreal, epic Odyssey around a heroes journey to return home for his mother’s death. The showcasing of anxiety and paranoia was absolutely fabulous. And Aster knows how to inject horror in bizarre and terrifying ways. There is some dark comedy, too. And the acting was phenomenal all around. Huge props to Phoenix, Pose, and LuPone. A bit drawn out and self-masturbatory, lol. 3.5/5 Hope all is well yall!

Jase 13,233
Bloodlines was f'n incredible. Tony Todd's little speech had me legit crying and gave me a little bit of a kick up the ass with where I am in life currently tbh.

Pandacadabra 8,516
I thought Drop was pretty good for a whodunnit type of movie. Definitely a lot of mystery, and I love that the lead from Death and Other Details plays the sister of the main protagonist. Acting was good, it definitely kept me intrigued. Its a fun watch, its more suspense/thriller than actual horror. I still think Companion and Final Destination Bloodlines are the best of the year so far.
