I saw Companion on Sunday and thought it was a fun time! VERY excited for Heart Eyes and The Monkey! I saw Presence recently and idk, I didn't really enjoy it that much. I felt like it definitely needed something to make the movie more engaging and interesting. Until then, this is Elvira saying unpleasant dreams.
Pandacadabra 8,547
Yeah, I watched Heart Eyes. It was cute. I wouldnt say it was bad, it was more entertaining as the movie progressed. Chucky Daddy Devon Sawa was a welcome surprise, I didnt know he was gonna be in the movie. The fake endings though. I get what they were going for with the RomCom clichés meets Slasher flick. It was okay.

I know that like Final Destination has always been gory but I'm just like ... NEW NIGHTMARES ARE LOADING PS Final Destination is my favorite horror franchise PPS I can't bring myself to watch the trailer www.instagram.com/theduella666
Pandacadabra 8,547
I just watched The Parenting, its more comedy than horror but there were some moments that scared me. I mean if we could categorize Beetlejuice Beetlejuice as Horror and it scared me 0% then this counts more. I enjoyed every second of this, love Lisa Kudrow since Friends and I've become a fan of Parker Posey, who I've recently discovered through the current season of The White Lotus. The entire cast have great chemistry with each other. I think the horror aspect took inspiration from Evil Dead and The Exorcist.

I believe the film wasn't critically successful when it came out, but it gained a huge following in later years, eventually giving it a cult classic status. The movie follows a group of young adults that investigate what happened to one of their friends. Their path leads them to a video game he was playing and the more they learn about the game, the more they realize something is very wrong. Since I am a huge fan of horror video games, this movie was right up my alley. The game in the movie reminds me so much of those old Silent Hill/Resident Evil games, so if you are a fan of those, definitely check this movie out. It's not the best horror movie of the 2000s, but it still managed to grab my attention. Reveal hidden contents I love Stay Alive, definitely watched this over and over again many years ago. I still dont understand the low critics and audience scores for this movie. I feel the same way about Dead Silence as well which apparently is panned when it comes to ratings.

Pandacadabra 8,547
The Monkey.. I would like to know if anyone has seen it and loved it. The trailer of the movie did not make it seem that it was a horror/comedy. Maybe I wouldve received it better if I expected the comedy aspect. I dont know, I was barely scared. It just seemed like a Black Mirror / Room 104 / American Horror Stories episode. The writing at times felt like Ryan Murphy wrote the script as well. Now I am curious to read the source material by Stephen King if its close to what this was or not. The ads for the movie and reviews says its the best adaptation since Stephen King's "It" and I just think thats a lie. I didnt like this movie at all. I would put this at the bottom of the list of all the 2025 horror movies I have seen so far.

But I went to see what others thought, and on Reddit a lot of people love this movie like a psychological horror of intergenerational trauma. The movie still sucks to me even with that in mind. It wasnt funny enough nor scary enough.
