Pandacadabra 9,095
Sinners I dont even know where to start, I loved this movie. At first I didnt know exactly what to expect or the horror element of it because it was only suggested to me by a friend. I went it blind and I must say, its up there with the best I've seen this year. The lore in the film was really well written and overall its so good. 1

Jase 13,317
I watched Sinners a couple of weeks back and it's going to take something REAL special to top that! We've got Weapons in a couple of months which I'm expecting massive things from, so we shall see! @Flippy I'm finally watching Bring Her Back tomorrow night. The hype is REAL. 1
Fantina 3,357
Sinners came out on streaming today and I am legit about to watch it with my friend in a couple of hours. Will share my thoughts later. Fantina 3,357
I watched Sinners yesterday and I enjoyed it! The camerawork was really good (the aspect ratio changing when the vampires were allowed in the barn provided a really cool shot) as well as the music, of course. I went in blind, and some parts definitely caught me by surprise (like who survived in the end and how the movie ended overall). Until then, this is Elvira saying unpleasant dreams.

Fantina 3,357
What do we think about this? As a reminder, he was a writer for both Longlegs (2024) and The Monkey (2025). Until then, this is Elvira saying unpleasant dreams.
Fantina 3,357
It's been a while! Hopefully yall are doing okay and enjoying the new releases in the horror genre Today I will share my thoughts and opinions regarding Bring Her Back and Weapons! But, before that, I want to quickly talk about M3GAN 2.0 or whatever the movie is called. Might be an unpopular opinion, but I found it pretty decent? It's definitely NOT a typical horror movie and I don't know if the sequel even belongs in the genre, but if you go into it not expecting to see a horror movie, you might actually end up liking it? It's difficult for any movie to release a sequel that's as good as the first one, and I think they kind of delivered on that front, albeit they definitely switched up the genre a bit. If the original movie focused more on establishing M3GAN as this creature of horror, then the sequel kind of threw that out of the window and decided to milk the online popularity M3GAN received and made her this glambot that constantly throws shade and struts like a boss. Sure, there are NO scares and NO creepy monsters, but if you want to watch 2 fembots fight it out, then this movie might be for you. I actually really enjoyed Talk To Me and it might be in my Top 10 list of horror movies that came out this decade, so, needless to say, I was really looking forward to Bring Her Back. The movie definitely delivers in the gore aspect, as did Talk To Me, which was cleverly used to slowly build up the uneasy feeling, ultimately amping up near the end. While you can clearly tell that not all is as it seems in the caretaker's house, I didn't necessarily understand or expect the movie to go in the direction it chose. One thing that Bring Her Back shares with its predecessor is the pacing and overall energy. Maybe halfway through the movie, the entire tone of the film shifts, and it basically becomes a non-stop rollercoaster of what's going to happen next lol While I definitely enjoyed Talk To Me more, the cast of Bring Her Back absolutely killed it and it's far from a bad movie. I will also talk about this in the next paragraph, but I am kind of curious to see if the director at one point chooses to make both Talk To Me and Bring Her Back happen in the same universe? Even if they choose not to, I am still excited for the future where they release more awesome films like this. I will try and give a non-spoiler review of Weapons as it's still very new. Overall, the movie was cool. I believe the reason why I didn't enjoy it as much as I hoped is that it had the same energy as Barbarian, which I didn't really like too much. If you go into a screening of the film expecting the same tone and pacing as the trailer, you will be in for a slight surprise. There were some really creepy moments and without giving out too much, one scene in particular is probably one of the WILDEST scenes I have seen in a movie this year. Definitely go see it, it's worth the watch. I saw it in cinema, and it was so cool to see how the audiences reacted to some scenes. There were laughs, there were gasps and there were cheers lol I remember when they were promoting the movie online, they also left some easter eggs that hinted at the possibility of making Barbarian part of the same universe as Weapons which would be interesting. I can't wait to see what's next from this writer/director! The trailers are as always, below in the spoiler: Spoiler Until then, this is Elvira saying unpleasant dreams.

Fantina 3,357
Now, for those who have seen Weapons, below in the spoiler are SPOILERS so DON'T OPEN IF YOU HAVEN'T WATCHED WEAPONS! Let's discuss Spoiler I want to discuss 2 things in particular: 1. My sort of theory is that the lady is this super old witch who survived by basically tormenting and breaking minds like she did with the kid's parents. When they were talking in the car, the father did mention that he never met her before and that he wasn't even sure that mom remembered who she was? Could the witch possibly have killed mother's older sister and pretended to be her so she could find more people to torment? She keeps saying things like consumption and I forgot what else, which hints that she might be of a period that's not that recent. Maybe the spell or whatever that kept her alive all this time didn't work as well as it did, and now it required children's bodies too? While I did enjoy her character and reveal, I did kind of wish we learned a bit more about her then just it's evil granny lol 2. That ending scene was BRUTAL....The way those kids tore her body to smithereens was satisfying yet grotesque I'm a fan Until then, this is Elvira saying unpleasant dreams.
