Why did Gaga and Beyoncé never perform Telephone together?

Beyonce doesnt want to do any extra work since that collab. She only does her tour and thats it, even award show performances she doesnt do. It seems like Taylor is doing the same thing too, even at the VMAs she did not perform.

This question haunts me too 

back in 2010 I theorize it was because both of them couldn’t match their schedules to perform it, I know Gaga was full time touring since late 2009 till mid 2011 on the massive TMB tour 

I know Beyoncé took a break after finishing a huge tour (I am), and around May she shot (wdylm) MV so maybe she was working on 4 but she had a less tight schedule 

in 2010 Gaga did fewer broadcast performances cause of the tour, and the window to promote the single was around January-April She didn’t sing it at Oprah cause it wasn’t a single yet, she sang speechless at the Grammys, then in the UK she performed Telephone at the Brits but it was a homage to McQueen, and at Jonathan Ross (maybe Beyoncé couldn’t make it to the UK, or the stage was too small)  and at last in Japan at music station but it was less likely Beyoncé could travel to Japan, plus that performance is one of the most obscure of hers

After that there were no other big shows, in April she moved to Alejandro as a single and cause of the tour saturation she couldn’t film a music video for dance in the dark

I bet they were gonna do the brits (the uk has long been a big market for Beyonce) but the McQueen death dramatically altered things for Gaga obviously

Yup recalling all those performances, the Brits seemed like the most ideal chance to be together, even Jonathan Ross but not because of the tiny stage

Can you imagine two tragic deaths altered two big Gaga presentations, it’s just speculation but it’s very curious

It's not about bad blood, it's about where their mindset is, creatively. Gaga shelved a Cher collab because she felt it was half assed, and she loves Cher. 

It was simply that the song didn't fit her current creative mood. I feel like that's the case with Beyoncé. 

I think both moved on creatively, and don't care about revisiting such an old duet TBH. I think that's all there is to it. 

Beyoncé played "Applause" on her tour during the Gaga/Katy "beef", I doubt she holds animosity against her. They're just both busy doing new, exciting things. 

but beyoncé sings old songs all the time, including ones that aren't actually considered that good or great ... being a perfectionist means she can reinvent and perfect them to match her moods now!

Do we forget that beyonce has a looooong relationship with darkchild that goes way back to destiny’s child? He produced say my name. That, to me, was what sold her on a Gaga collab bc quite literally no other way would she be able to work on a Gaga song and have it feel like it does service to both artist’s strengths

Yeah! It just seems suspect to me that for as huge as the song was there was NO attempt made to perform it even once. Not buying it especially given the schedules Beyoncé and Gaga were both on at these times
