Just public support. It just helps with motivation; a vast majority of eligible citizens don't vote. It's not the easiest thing to do in a big portion of the country and many young voters don't feel like it is worth the effort. Even if they're informed and know where they stand, if no one they care about is telling them to go to the polls, they won't. Celeb endorsement is small, but hearing one person you look up to or share values with come out and say they feel like it's important is sometimes the thing that gets people to make that effort. 

Nothing could work for Hilary because she started the campaign with decades worth of baggage and oppo research against her. She's been deeply disliked since the 90's. If she didn't have 85% of all American celebs on the campaign trail with her, she'd have probably lost the popular vote too I think.

I mean, if you need your fav celeb or pop girl to make your choice, you probably shouldn't be voting in the first place.

Plus it tends to have the opposite effect. Look at 2016, nearly everyone in the media endorsed Hillary and the general public got annoyed... I love watching reactions to trumps win lmfao especially the Big Brother US one where the one girl said she thought trump would win and everyone looked at her with a weird look and she was so smug afterwards when big brother revealed the result 😂 

American politics is madness. Sad that RFK dropped out and endorsed Trump. Despite some past stories that make me dislike him, he is the best choice for the country.

Trump will likely win, Elon head of efficiency commission, RFK head of health/FDA or whatever you guys have over there. I cant wait to see what happens. I see Elon being a respected historical figure, idk why I just feel it. I also feel he will run for president one day. I like him, I relate to him with his autism too, everyone says I'm like him with my mannerisms that's prob why I like him aha

Well endorsing happens across the board. Like Obama endorsed Harris also. The idea is to hopefully utilize your own platform to galvanize support for someone else’s you support and from the one seeking endorsement, if someone had a lot of influence (like the Obamas) that could genuinely turn the tide. Tswift and other celeb ones are only kinda important imo bc it depends on how they’re able to influence an audience not just their name, but the concept is there across American politics. Planned Parenthood endorses, for instance

The hate she was getting was completely unnecessary. She was always going to endorse Kamala and boy, how she did.

Like Blondies parents probably have always voted Republican, there is no way she would switch her allegiances just because of some new friends. Saw so much comments on how her bf made her Republican, but I'm fairly sure he's voting democrat, too.

The system is not very robust or well executed, but conceptually it's not a horrible idea. It is meant to help push against voter fraud. Doesn't work as it's intended to, but that's the idea behind it.
