11 is average, not a bad sign, but not too great either.

Angelina Jolie got 8 minutes for “Maria” so I would say 11 is better than just average.

Knife

I had no idea about the standing ovation rating metric until this thread. Who decides when it ends? :triggered:

But feels like this standing ovation thing is becoming some kind of competition for the last years and it will only get worse me thinks? I don’t remember this thing being so talked before as it is now.

in the future we'll have 1 hour standing ovations to outdo the ones before :deadbanana:

Whose flop job is it to stand around with a timer while they clap

Journalists, no offense :trollga:

This standing ovation-thing is just embarrassing, sorry :huntyga:

How uncomfortable to spend 11 minutes of your life clapping to people who just want to leave and have a glass of wine? Joaquin, you did what I would've done.

Yeah there's a growing negative press vibe around him. If they don't get on top of it, it will definitely cost them any chance of the Best Picture nom and kill his Best Actor nom.

Reviews indicate Gaga should definitely be in line for a nom though but looks like Tilda Swinton/Julianne Moore are emerging as the lead favourites for the Best Actress category. Will all depend on who gets put forward for what tbf

He's been this way with press/interviews for a long time...including the time he promoted the first Joker film...where he won Best Actor at the Oscars.

Atp, people know what to expect with Joaquin. He's weird, off-kilter, and awkward; it's just who he is. The whole Todd Haynes situation is a legitimate concern, but in terms of his overall behavior, people have known about this with Joaquin for a long time.

the fact that some fans brag about how long a certain movie’s standing ovation was sends me :brat:

tbf some pop music stans brag about the length of the concerts from their faves, I think that’s even worse

As many said first movie was also mixed and especially from audiences. Hopefully it’s still a beautifully put together film with lots of entertainment value. ASIB did great and wasn’t exactly Citizen Kane. Will definitely not be Glitter/Cats bad
