"The half time show will be wonderful I'm sure"

That sounds so sarcastic tbh

As much as I'd like to think it was sincere, I kinda agree. The fact that she has to sound so reassuring makes me wonder what her intent was. It's not like anyone was questioning whether Madonna was going to suck to begin with.

notice she didn't exactly go "OMG! so happy to see Madonna!". I think it was her way of acknowledging the remarks and slightly registering her disapproval, but staying above retaliation.

I'm sure Madge's performance is going to be a big floppy ass mess, just like M.I.A's career. I really do think the tweet was shady. Gaga is nice, but she's not here for no b---h calling her reductive. I don't care who you are, shading other artists badly like that is not cool. I hate how everyone thinks since Madonna was top b---h for years, that no one else ever can take that place, it's pathetic and ignorant to think no one will ever top Madonna.

Why is it that an artist can't mention or even allude to another artist without their comment being considered as "shade?" Regardless of the context?

Is pop music really so cutthroat that we need to jump to unnecessary and most likely false conclusions?

If Gaga said something like, "I don't get mad. On another note..."

All people would pick up on was Mad. On a

And be all up in arms because she's obviously talking about Madonna, and if someone talks about someone, it's shade.

"I am in love with such-and-such right now!" "SHADE!"

The issue is that her and Michael Jackson made the pop landscape what it is. Classic songs, controversy, huge music videos, iconic outfits & tours, s-x appeal, those things are all what pop aspires to be today and so indistinguishable from Madonna. It'd be like someone saying "it's crazy to think that Justin Timberlake won't top MJ just because he was the King of Pop for awhile", it's more than that, those two actually made pop what it is today.

So no, no one will ever top Madonna or Michael Jackson in that regard because they will always be the Queen and King of Pop for the pop you see now and for the foreseeable future, it's everywhere.

For someone to top them, they will have to completely change the course of pop, like Michael bringing epic music videos that people still use the formula of ("Thriller" - "Telephone"), or bring something as influential as s-x was to pop music like Madonna did.

Oh yeah, and she won't suck, are you kidding this b---h is doing 14 hour rehearsal days working Nicki to a mental breakdown. :toofunny: She's ruthless and always has been and Nicki says it's the hardest she's ever worked but also an important lesson.
