Humm I sorta feel bad for her. I NEVER liked her music but I know that she used to be on top of the world years ago. Hit after hit and sold-out tours but…now? I mean, what is this? She “sings” now in gay bars?

I think her career is over for sure. The only way to save it is to wait a few years and let people forget about her and come out with something acousticish like it was from One of the Boys. She should take notes on Gaga and Kesha.

Let’s face it. There is no coming back for her from this. Though very different artists, her career and where it’s headed reminds me of Xtina a lot. Witness was her ‘Bionic’ - first tumble and both weirdly similar in terms of music and even the artwork. Now ‘143’ is Katys ‘Lotus’. Again, both covers are weirdly similar. Sure Christina didn’t have her ‘Smile’, she went straight to her ‘143’ but ‘Smile’ was so insignificant that it doesn’t even matter. Verdict: You only have to look at Christina’s career to predict where KP is going to end up. She’s not going to have her ‘Joanne’ moment. It’s too late for that. Even if she miraculously does something of quality people won’t care anymore and it’s not going to achieve the same level of success.

Hmm. I don’t know. There was still some hype around Lotus and Your Body from what I remember and people were waiting to see what direction she was going to go after Bionic, but it was just not a good record and it flopped just like 143 is going to. But with Liberation it was actually quite decent but at that point people didn’t care anymore. It got good reviews, even some Grammy nominations, but it had no impact whatsoever and no one talked about it. And I feel that’s what’s going to happen to Katy. Whatever she does next, even if it’s good, people won’t care anymore.
