does anyone remember how did Super Freaky Girl and BMS manage to debut at #1 respectively? was the points during the tracking week very low? if so, does anyone remember how many points? It’s so weird to me because both songs doesn’t have longevity and doesn’t make DWAS numbers (~10M) daily for weeks and yet they manage to secure number one. it honestly pissed me off that Hot 100 system is so broken that forgettable songs managed to hot shot debut at #1 while REAL ORGANIC smash hit is struggling… i’m over US radio 😭

It took me way too long to figure out what BMS was... :deadbanana:

Don't you think maybe they are the same thing? Love and attention?

21 M streams

4.6 M airplay

89,000 digital downloads

Die With A Smile sold more than 20k digital sales on its first week, significantly lower.

BMS

Break My Soul? it had a remix with Madonna to boost its streaming and physical sales numbers, it didn’t debut at number one as far as I remember

SFG had good streaming numbers by itself (I think?) and I’m pretty sure that Barbz had streaming and buying parties to secure the number one debut.

to sum up, @Luna Lovegood

we needed bigger physical sales to make up for the lack of radio deal during the first week…

Break my soul numbers: "drew 61.7 million radio airplay audience impressions (up 8%) and 18.9 million streams (up 114%) and sold 13,000 downloads (up 113%) "

This is the week we can achieve #1, but sadly the only thing we can do is request the song on the radio and stream it. It's only on Bruno's and Gaga's teams this time :bradley:

this is crazy… radio basically carried 😭 yeah i’m tryna see what Gaga and team can do realistically to secure a hot shot debut… i just know radio is NOT going to be on our side that’s for sure… i think a more realistic option for LG7 lead would be something like SFG, streams and digital sales carry the song but i HIGHLY doubt we can do SFG numbers especially when it comes to physical sales.. oh well

Honestly if they wanted to do something and get that #1, they would've done that on week one. I guess they just put out the song and called it a day. Nothing wrong with that, we still have longevity and overall smashery, but not a lot of peaks on major charts
