So since Friday morning I’ve been streaming DWAS on Spotify. I made a playlist with DWAS + 4 L4S songs and I keep streaming it for about 1 hour, then I stop and repeat the process. The thing is sometimes I have to mute the volume. There’s a person who works for Sony Music saying the volume doesn’t affect the number of streams.

Can anyone confirm this information please? Is there a better way to help the numbers grow?

I never fully mute Spotify, but on PC I turn the volume very low from the app and Windows volume mixer so it's unnoticeable, or then just plug headphones and mute from those

"yes, the minutes on mute will be counted towards listening stats. The app does not have the capabilities to track volume levels on the hardware it's running, so the mute will not affect the stats."

I think you need to do more songs than that or it will count as spam. At least Im doing DWAS + 2 Gaga songs + DWAS + 2 Bruno + DWAS (a few times) and then I just leave that on repeat. 

You can also join a streaming party on Stationhead and you will only need to leave the browser open with that and they will play the songs for you.

I assume the same goes to YouTube and other streaming platforms, so I never fully mute any of those

with the song officially impacting radio today and tomorrow, I am expecrting 2M+ radio updates, and a debut inside the top 30 in pop, this could honestly be another top 10 on radio for her, I am waiting to see how it does on streaming for the next week or so, but it would be amazing if it can go #1 on pop radio, bruno is a  loved spam child on radio, his songs get a lot of replay and playlisting.

I mean I dont mute Gaga anyway so I dont have this problem. But I understand if people are at work. I think the app volume like Youtube or Spotify should be high and then just modify your phone/device volume.

I did read this that there should be 2 to 3 songs gap for it to count on Spotify charts and 1 song gap on Apple Music.

Also, can you confirm if its true that for every Spotify account that 10 is the maximum streams that are counted towards charts. After 10 streams in a day, its no longer counted?

I think its 20 and not 10? But Im not sure!

Ok, I’ll add more songs! I keep pausing my playlist from time to time so it won’t be counted as spam. I’ll also check Stationhead. Thank you!
