the original article gave the impression a rep of Gaga's had confirmed the album was expected next year. it was modified to clarify that the representative never said this, and that's just what Variety thinks

Relieved! I don't want a rushed mess. She can take all the time she wants with it. There's so much packed into this year with this collab, the Joker 2 press tour, that Tony doc if we ever officially get it, etc. It would be a huge stretch to roll LG7 out as well. I can live without it till next year if she either hasn't finished it or won't have the time to promote it as much as she would with a freer schedule.

i honestly don't mind lg7 next year at all. we just got a single, which is FANTASTIC. and in october we are going to get the soundtrack for joker 2 and that's going to be everything !!!! 

 

let's just enjoy joker and the music we are going to get from that and have a full undistracted era next year or even late this year !!
