Like, look how many iconic pop culture things London had presented from old to new. Can't France even attempt at persuading Daft Punk to reunite for this event? Them and Guetta alone will be enough honestly. They're gonna be part of the handover section of the closing ceremony because the next Olympics are taking place in LA. The opening ceremony had plenty of french artists and french culture showcased (Gaga being an exception, Celine Dion is very french adjacent so doesn't really count). They're not 'giving it' to anyone, they showcased Aya Nakamura and Gojira and big French drag queens among others and we have no idea what they have planned for the closing.
