These threads are always full of the same hysterical takes from both sides, and the usual hit-and-runners who pop in to flex their morals and then leave without offering anything of substance to the conversation at hand lmao

The fact is Harris met with the protesters beforehand, listened to them and introduced them to members of her team to continue the conversation. Regardless of what she said in the moment when she was interrupted during the rally, that's more than any other Dem in the Biden admin has done SO FAR. Its extremely misleading to leave that exchange out of the narrative and act like Harris just rolled her eyes at the protesters.

Also, I'm sorry.. but I'm not going to begrudge Americans for putting their own issues and interests at the forefront during this election as the other available option is a swift and permanent descent into total fascism.

Yes, Israel is a world evil and they are committing a genocide that America is COMPLICIT IN. Yes, Israel must be STOPPED and America must stop funding and aiding these crimes against humanity. But you can't expect Americans to vote with this single atrocity in mind when trans people are being cut off from medical care and forced to flee their home states and women are being forced to carry children to term or face JAIL for pursuing reproductive care.

And if you're reading this post and already preparing yourself to argue any of my points please consider more nuance in how you take in the thoughts of others and grant me the grace of assumption that I'm already on your side. As dark and as awful as the world is right now, we must have compassion for each other in our individual fight for freedom, and if we're all in agreement that freedom is the pursuit it doesn't really more how we each prioritize that goal.

You can’t treat your own voters like they’re Mike Pence.

She graciously acknowledged the protester’s right to free speech, and when it continued to be disruptive she respectfully asserted that she was speaking and gave them a stern look.

Did you expect her to stop mid speech and open a townhall-style dialogue on Gaza right then and there?

She did well considering all things outside of this moment that got clipped (like she could have left it there it was a good response), like meeting with the movement before was great. She needed a better quip/slogan to get them down - if anything - that didn’t come across condescending.
 

If they didn’t stop then it’s security’s job to shut them down, not her’s. The initial clip only showing her more strong response looks v bad, but not everyone is going to dive in the context of he4 better actions before afterwards

She could have said something simple like I understand the Muslim community concerns, and I guarantee to meet with them to talk about their concerns, but right now I need to speak.

She also did not meet them before the event, she just took a photo with them and said she would consider meeting them in the future.

Going to a Kamala rally and scream “Kamala U can hide, we Wont vote genocide” doesnt sound a smart thing to do when the opposite side can use anything like this to attack her, so its not helping, but do you do lol

Not entirely accurate- she met with them, heard them out on their concerns (individuals told stories about their families in Gaza and other personal stories about this conflict) and she said she was open to meeting with them to discuss policy more in depth in the future.

The other side is anti Palestine, so they wont use what the protestors did against her, they would actually take Kamalas side on this event.
