Black Detroiters and suburban women alone are going to give Michigan to Kamala. That radical loud minority was never gonna vote Kamala anyway. Juanjo 2,284
I’m glad she clapped back, she doesn’t have to sit there and take that just to save face. She is showing she is a candidate with character. I want a cease fire, and I believe the innocent people of Palestine do not deserve any of the vile acts of violence they have been subjected to, but these protests will do absolutely nothing to help. It does seem like these people do want trump to win. Mind-boggling.

faysalaaa 5,336
Hmm I like Kamala but I dont like this response. She was speaking in a state known for its Muslim community, obviously people were gonna speak up about Palestine, and she should have addressed the Muslim community concerns. But instead she did what every establishment Democrat does, pointing the fingers at Trump and blaming voters.

Like what was this protest supposed to accomplish? Activism needs to go beyond just disrupting - it needs to be informative. SPEAK to what you want, don't just cause chaos. Future Lovers 7,616
Look, I won't say she couldn't have handled it a little better because she could have. But you've also go to realize that she was put in a no-win situation here. If she didn't say anything to them at all, then she was going to take heat from the camp that will twist it into her being antisemitic and bringing in pro-Hamas rhetoric into her platform. If she responds, then she was (and is) going to take heat from those who feel she's trying to silence those who're criticizing Israel. There was no right answer here. You can look back through my post history here and find that I have been adamantly pro=Palestine since this whole conversation began. I still am. Always will be. I don't claim to believe that Kamala's record of messaging on the subject is perfect, nor am I under any delusions that she's suddenly going to get into the White House and solve the whole thing. But what I am quite sure of is that of the two people running for president, she is the one whom the Palestinians actually have some hope under. The one who does support a ceasefire. The one who isn't going to tell Israel to, quote, "finish the job." I understand the point the protestors here wanted to make. I do. I get it. But we've got to pick our battles, and at the moment the battle for Palestine's future rests in the hands of who is in control of the one nation in the world Israel needs permission from to do what they want to do. There is a very clear answer who of the two of them is going to be better for Palestinians. There will be a time where we can put pressure on Kamala to act more decisively in regards to the subject, but that time is not in this moment when literally anything could tip the scales of the election. We have to start playing the long game instead of only thinking about right here right now.
