It's not fear mongering, it's just looking at who's pulling the strings and going "oh wait that's not a good person". I'll never understand people who attack people who live in a country for prioritsing domestic politics that have an immediate and direct effect on them. Of course, when people see a potential outcome of an upcoming domestic election being a direct threat to their safety they prioritise themselves because who the **** wouldn't. I'll also never understand a certain section of the Pro-Palestine movement that routinely dismiss and downplay the threat that Trump poses both domestically to US citizens & internationally to Palestinians, Europeans & every other nationality within the middle-east. Biden has been terrible on the Israel-Palestine conflict since Oct 7th, it's undeniable. And I totally understand why he's getting so much animosity from anyone who cares deeply about the ongoing genocide. But why are we downplaying the threat Trump poses? This is the guy who's repeatedly said he'd give Israel even more freedoms to wage war than Biden & allies have allowed. This is the guy who recognised Jerusalem as the capitol of Israel. He'd make Biden's Israel policy look humane. There is nothing to be gained by anyone who supports Palestine deliberately dismissing the very real threat posed by Republicans under Trump. This, I also found that a lot of the folk here that criticize Kamala and us are not from the USA. like you said, you can’t blame people here in the USA for prioritizing their needs and try to save democracy and our rights. We all want the war in Gaza to stop, we can do both at the same time and again the democrats are not the enemy

Don’t downplay the laws and rulings against trans people and women that have already been passed. I’m genuinely not trying to downplay the horrible anti-LGBTQ+ legislation that the right wing has passed these past years, and I know how important it is to prevent P25 from even having a sliver of chance of happening, but calling it a “genocide at home” is a bit much, and kinda downplays the actual genocides happening around the world where hundreds- and in some cases millions- of people are actively getting murdered. I support Kamala 100% and absolutely loathe Trump and his goons so I should probably just stfu now lol

We all want the war in Gaza to stop, we can do both at the same time and again the democrats are not the enemy This narrative you and @Bronco are pushing is completely unfair. If I lived in the US I would vote for Kamala. And I would push her as hard as I could to stop funding a genocide. This idea is being pushed on this site that we have to put all issues on hold until after the election. This is not reason. It is a top-down political strategy: convince your voters they need to shut up and uncritically rally behind a candidate so that an enemy can't win, and then wait for them to continue to shut up after the election is won, so you don't have to change any actual policy. If people here seriously think that the Democratic response to being accused of funding a genocide and violating international law in the most extreme way possible is unrelated to domestic affairs, they have a surprise coming for them Biden's administration showed that Democratic leaders don't give a flying **** about Democratic voters and are willing to arrest them, accuse them of racism and allow far right Nazis to beat them up just for protesting. How is that not a domestic affair? You say it yourself: we can do both at the same time. So let's do that. Doing that does not equal telling people to stop protesting until Kamala wins. The time is now to rally for Kamala and to demand her to promise what we want vs. turning her into a stan idol for absolutely no goddamn reason. Franch Toast 27,737
Y'all aren't considering the full context of what happened. From the NYT: “Before her rally in Detroit, Vice President Kamala Harris spoke briefly with the co-founders of the Uncommitted National Movement, which mobilized tens of thousands of voters in Michigan to withhold their votes from President Biden in the primary earlier this year over his support for Israel’s war in Gaza. Abbas Alawieh and Layla Elabed said they were in the welcoming line for Harris and Governor Walz, and communicated to Harris that they wanted to support her but that voters wanted her to consider an arms embargo to immediately stop the carnage in the besieged enclave.” “Harris listened to stories of people in Michigan who have had dozens of family members killed in Gaza. The leaders asked to meet with her about the embargo request, and she indicated she was open to it, and introduced the two leaders to her staff.” What Harris said when she was interrupted was: ""I'm talking right now. Don't talk over me. There's a right way and we are talking there, too." I do agree she should have showed more empathy to protestors when responding to them. I think it's great that people are pushing her to consider an arms embargo, and activists shouldn't have to wait till after the election when even more people are killed and even more resources are destroyed to put pressure on her. However, I also acknowledge that she is not yet president and can only do so much at the moment as VP. I do believe she will take more action against the genocide than Biden has, and certainly she'll be better for Gaza than Trump, but that doesn't mean activists shouldn't continue to put pressure on her/Biden/the Democratic party now. She's in a tough spot because as Biden's VP she can't oppose his policies, but she also needs to forge new ones of her own that may break with his. I live in metro Detroit and didn't vote for Biden in the primary because of what's happening in Gaza, but I also planned to vote for him in the election, and I will do the same with Harris. Just because people are pushing her to take a stand doesn't mean they won't still vote for her. She/Her/Hers

We will worry about ours I didn't tell you what to do, I'm merely referencing something you said yourself: "We have to fight for democracy first here and save the future of our LGBTQi+ community so we can keep fighting for people in Gaza." I am trying to make a difference in my own country also. Again, the arrogant insinuations. FORGIVE ME for focusing on the government which is directly and overwhelmingly responsible for the continuation of a genocide, the refugees of which my country's government is taking in unlike your own "Democratic" one. I hate it as much as you probably do but what American Democrat voters will do has an immense impact on Palestinians. If I was an American in the 1940s, I would also ask Germans to stop their government from organizing mass murder. I guess you wouldn't?
