Shapiro: Questionable record on Palestinians. Questionable record with schools and unions. Questionable handling of a sexual harassment accusation in his team. Good orator. Guarantees PA, the most important state in the electoral college this cycle, which could determine the winner. Walz: Brings no tangible advantage to the electoral college. Approachable. Solid policies while in office. Better with unions. Seems to be favored by law makers like Pelosi.
REALITY 80,245
Literally the best option vs the worst Kamala, I'm begging, please choose Walz 𝔗𝔥𝔢 𝔪𝔬𝔫𝔰𝔱𝔢𝔯 𝔱𝔬𝔯𝔢 𝔞𝔴𝔞𝔶 𝔦𝔱𝔰 𝔪𝔞𝔰𝔨 𝔞𝔫𝔡...𝔦𝔱𝔰 𝔣𝔞𝔠𝔢 𝔴𝔞𝔰 𝔪𝔦𝔫𝔢.
LibraLove 1,282
It HAS to be Walz. Broad appeal. Folksy, charismatic charm. A very substantive resume from educator, to highly decorated National Guard servicemember, to multi-term legislator, to multi-term Congressman, to two-term Governor. A history of consistently defeating Republicans and passing relatively progressive legislation in Minnesota. But I don't put it past Democrats to ultimately shoot themselves in the foot. It's practically habitual at this point.

I would argue that Walz does bring tangible pros to the Electoral College. He can easily appeal to blue collar workers across the Rust Belt and reinforce the Blue Wall. Shapiro may make it easier to win Pennsylvania, but I don't really see him as broadly appealing to voters across the Rust Belt. He's controversial, especially to the large Arab/Muslim populations that live in Michigan and other places. He's also only been elected to Governor for like 1.5 years, so that would kind of make the attack that Vance has no electoral/legislative history moot (not that that's a necessarily a big deal/angle, but more the negatives for the Republicans and less negatives for the Democrats, the better). Don’t forget Shapiro’s questionable review of Ellen Greenberg’s “suicide”. The guy is such a red flag and will surely have a negative impact on the momentum she has. PLUS, the PA Supreme Court has just agreed to review the ruling. If they find any corruption, it’s over. People also need to recognize that the “republicans are weird” narrative was started by Walz. The guy talks like a real person, not like a politician. He will be an amazing surrogate for Kamala.
