I know Muslim people that have been in the UK since the 60s since before a lot of these thugs were even born, so please tell me how it's "your" country. Social media has so much to answer for, the last few months I've seen many right wing leaning reels on my insta about immigrants etc, creating division and fear amongst the uneducated and poor and furthering the agenda of the organised right. Our violent crimes are the lowest in years and yet these social media bots put out fake content saying otherwise due to migrants, it's horrendous and I don't know what anyone can do about it. The whole thing started with an awful knife attack on kids at a yoga event, fake posts on social media claimed the guy that did it was Muslim, even though he's a British born christian and now it's turned into this. A friend just messaged me a screenshot of some group chat planning a riot today on his road. The police have been made aware apparently. The whole debate over racism here has got totally twisted with people finding all kinds of ways to be racist while justifying it to themselves that they aren't. I’ve already seen armed police vans patrolling, this needs to be stopped. This was never about those poor girls this was always about being racist and looting.
