Venezuelan's regime "wins" the presidential elections. Country is protesting.

2024 Venezuela's Presidential Elections happened two days ago and not even all the results from the entire country were given to the National Electoral Council of Venezuela when it was announced that dictator Nicolas Maduro was reelected with 5M of votes. The actual percentage of votes in some states will be shown below, demonstrating that the vast majority of Venezuelans voted for Edmundo Gonzales (blue) who is the main leader of the Opposition against Nicolas Maduro's regime (red).

Venezuelans have been protesting and defending our votes since yesterday. Many of us were hopeful we'd be free of this corrupt dictatorship by now, but once again they did it. Many countries didn't recognise the results of elections and are asking the government to accept the actual ones, but I'm afraid nothing will happen again.

Surprised at how much time it took for someone to speak about this in GagaDaily.

Thank you for sharing this with the whole community. I'm a Venezuelan living in Buenos Aires, Argentina. I decided to stop talking about Venezuela here in GGD because some people get very aggressive and wanted to explain Venezuela to me as if I wasn't born there and perfectly know what's going on.

Please, everyone, remember that right now there are lots of people fighting for their lives and for their freedom in my country. Don't turn this into a left vs. right thing. This is democracy vs. dictatorship and it should never be seen as something else.

As an update, the opposition leader, María Corina Machado managed to get the real documents that prove that the election results shown by the regime are false. She asked people to gather peacefully in public spaces today and is requesting help from the international community. At 11am Venezuela time, people will take the streets and raise their voices for freedom once again.

Maduro has requested that the diplomatic staff of every country that has denounced the fraud leaves the Venezuela. Also that all embassies and council's staff in those countries returns to Venezuela, leaving millions of Venezuelan people without an embassy or council to go to if they need anything (national documents, passports, etc.).

They just imprisoned one of the leaders of the opposition too.

This is very serious and they were never so unafraid of showing themselves as dictators.

I'm scared for the people of my country, and for my family and friends who are still living there.

This is crazy. I have friends who are Venezuelan and this is terrifying that even still to this day we have communities where a dictator govern for so many years. That should be illegal worldwide.

Sí, estaba hablando de eso. Si necesitas comunicar algo en inglés y te cuesta mucho, envíamelo por privado y lo traduzco y lo publico yo.

Si vas a ir a marchar, por favor cuidate mucho. Todos queremos ver un cambio, pero recuerda que no les va a importar matar a quien necesiten matar para mantenerse donde están.

The biggest issue Venezuela faces is that there's still thousands of people who don't think that what's going on in Venezuela is a dictatorship. That's why no action has been taken so far by the international community.

Today, however, it's clearer than ever as there is proof that the results shown by the regime are false.

We really hope this makes a difference, otherwise we are doomed.

My family and I have been watching this very close since a few days before the elections and haven't been able to sleep well. We know so many Venezuelans and all of the struggles that they have lived there, and we're sending all the help that we can. It's a sad situation, but I'm so proud of Venezuelans for standing up against their oppressors, the military, and that puppet dictator. I pray they keep fighting until they can regain their democracy and eliminate anything that threatens it.

Like my mom just said to me, "you can't eliminate a dictator by voting."

I saw the protests on the news, despite the chaotic situation it is good to know the population is fighting this authoritarian regime and is not backing down. Also the international pressure for transparency in results is intensifying. Another 6 years of power abuses and violation of civil rights is a terrifying scenario, I can’t imagine how concerned you are right now! Is there a possibility the National Assembly or the Supreme Court declare the elections were manipulated so the results can be cancelled?
