What about the massive radio payola? it stopped? It will transfer on the next single?

My guess is her record label saw how bad the song was performing on all metrics and decided to pull the plug on it and instead use the money for the next single.

I doubt she can recover after this.

she already had 2 albums that did bad, she had to do the acoustic album now. Do a powerful ballad.
i don’t think pop radio will ever get behind her again.

Even Gaga has a problem to get pop radio spins.

The constant KP bashing posts are getting a bit much. Surely they can all go under the same thread.

Same, but I have a hard time finding anything to praise her for... except for her kindness towards Gaga obviously and world tour stage designs (prismatic, witness) :oprah:

The only people I know in my circles that liked it were basic, white, problematic gays…

The pile on Katy here lately has been so vicious…. 10 years of pent up anger all being let out. It’s therapy for us little monsters that lived through 2010-2014

Exactly this tbh. It feels so good. I can still see those Prism trucks driving trough the US.

Her vocals are not it, have never been it either. Just the thought of her doing an acoustic album hurts my ears, too the point I couldn’t even talk about.

The way that this literally needs to be studied , like she and her team is really trying to make these singles flop and they are so good at doing it since 2019. (Btw this is the first thing that I ever wrote , hi to everybody :cheeky: )

The class will be short if that's the case. :ororomunroe:

All of these just proves it that Teenage Dream wasn't a good album, but an album that was put out at the right time and at the right place. It's not talent that brought her to upper wchelon, but some sheer luck. That part of 2010s was responding to that kind of sounds, but not anymore since the change of the decade. She had been chasing that same high ever since but her method is by making similiar sounds over and over, which is clearly a missteps. And even worse now by ruining her own chances for a big comeback, the momentum was there, but she stills thinks making the sounds that made her famous was the key, to the point she doesn't mind to return to a producer that does not have very good reputation anymore for that sounds. Not only she is serving dated music, she also now annoyed, if not angered, a lot of modern pop stans who are really into social justice. It wouldn't be surprising if she knocks the last nail on her coffin with this imho

Well, I agree with all the things u are saying except the part that teenage dream album is not good and her success was SHEER luck. And I'm not trying to say that she is so talented . First of all iykyk , u don't have to be so talented to be at the top in this music industry. There are so many examples of it . If u have really good team that is really improving theirselves , sticking to following music industry where it goes and just knows how things really work in time there is a literally high chances of being at the top with the right moves. There are so many more talented people out there but we don't even know their names or maybe we heard it for like 1-2 times. And even if it all was sheer luck , it couldn't be for 9 years . This improves that her team was doing something right at that time.If u literally believe that all of that was sheer luck , i am sorry but u are trying to convince yourself believe for something that has literally no truth for at all .So at this point, however u are so talented , have so much potential if u don't have THAT team or the right support, power from music industry , I am sorry but u will be nothing .

tyler k

i don't feel bad for her at all - it's truly what she deserves for so carelessly moving forward with this album & its tracks produced by a rap*ist. she made her bed, now she can lie in it.

Nite

The GP around me is completely unaware of Dr Luke and all that drama. I think she could've done okay if the song was good. But it's not very catchy and the lyrics make it sound like she's making fun of feminism which is so not the right track to take rn
