They also made the other side of the runway dancers who had choreo but decided to shoot it so that it shows the other side of the runway where the people just stood there... It drives me INSANE

basically yes lol. I think usually they do most of the artistic stuff up front and then the Parade of Nations at the end where all the athletes walk in so you can tune out but here it's mixed in so I think it seems longer

I'm also thinking this might have been a timing issue because now the performance is simultaneous with the boats compared to the beginning where they had them separated?
