Am I the only one who thinks this is sad? I get a lot of people are happy the single is flopping because Dr. Luke produced it, but aside from that, she was one of the top Pop Stars 10 years ago and now she fails to get a decent hit. Her last relatively big song was Never Really Over. I had really hoped KP6 would be her big return but for now it doesn't seems to be the case

Its just the way things go with the charts. 

Artists maintain a form of longevity, even if its only top 40 or top 20 positions & #1 albums. 

Singers have an amazing peak, followed by a complete fade away into the nostalgia circuit. 

Katy Perry is the later, at her peak she made some brilliant easy to consume pop hits. Now, 15+ years on she's not changed the recipe and there's nothing interesting going on.

I see what you mean and yes in a way it’s sad. But I don’t think her working with Dr Luke is the sole problem because sadly, if the song would be really good people would stream it regardless. It’s a combination of everything: lyrics, visuals, the melody… it all feels uninspired and try hard. Plus Katy has pretty much lost the ‘gp’ with Witness and Smile (undersevedly imo because those albums have their moments) and now she is obviously trying to get back to her Teenage Dream/Prism sound… and it’s not catching on.
