Harris secures enough delegate endorsements to win the DNC presidential nomination

In a shocking turn of events , Democratic delegates are coalescing around Kamala Harris very fast. :holdmyhand:

Kamala Harris has the support of enough Democratic delegates to win the party’s nomination for president, according to CNN’s delegate estimate.

While endorsements from delegates continue to come in, the vice president has now been backed by well more than the 1,976 pledged delegates she’ll need to win the nomination on the first ballot.

Harris crossed the threshold amid a wave of endorsements from state delegations Monday evening.

These endorsements are not binding and with President Joe Biden out of the race, delegates are free to vote for the candidate of their choice.   He did choose them and they will go with who he endorsed  most likely !:volantis:

CNN’s count comes from public statements of support from delegates and state delegations, CNN reporting and conversations with delegates. Endorsements from state delegations are counted as unanimous support for Harris unless we’ve received other information.

Under a plan outlined by Democratic officials Monday, delegates are expected to vote to confirm Harris as the nominee by August 7.

UPDATE: An hour later, Kamala has spoken:

… Tonight, I am proud to have secured the broad support needed to become our party's nominee, and as a daughter of California, I am proud that my home state's delegation helped put our campaign over the top. I look forward to formally accepting the nomination soon.

"I am grateful to President Biden and everyone in the Democratic Party who has already put their faith in me, and I look forward to taking our case directly to the American people.

We need to encourage our young voters to vote. I hope to never experience the hopelessness I felt in 2016.

im seeing lots of excitement and hope with her since alot of the stuff being thrown at Biden cannot be thrown at her like the old card and gaffes.:partysick: We won't get high quality polling for 2 weeks maybe but she will win MI i can tell you that. Lots of Gen Z and young voters work for her campaign and can attract them and need to get out that crucial  vote , lets tiktok this and meme to the polls:volantis: . if you work that day , vote by mail. Our path to victory just got alot brighter  her being a woman, and poc ? the right will try and use that against her but we will elect her come Nov 5. :vegas:

This is quite the gamble - most Democrats see the party nominating someone with zero votes is… well not great.

new polls are out and Trump is beating Harris MORE than he was beating Biden.. guess we will see. :deadbanana:

we will not get actual real quality polls for 1-2 weeks from today when she entered the race. So I hope to see a 47%-43%  like 2020.  She is going over VP picks rn and we have our convention next month so its refreshing to see everyone come around her and endorse her after there was talk of some trying to enter the convention and run against her. The young turks wanna see trump win i swear everytime i watch them. smh
