I don't like it when things get in the way of her being as sincere and genuine as possible. Till it happens to you for example was a tricky one, her having to take more writing credit to hopefully finally win Diane her first Oscar. Her promo for her last two movies had some odd moments. I would love for this one to be smooth sailing to the finish line, letting the acting speak for itself and her just being her charming self in promo and not having to over compensate. Ofcourse it would be amazing if she won, she doesn't have to win for her role to be impressive and impactfull. Fences: Denzel Viola Joker 2: Phoenix Gaga Billing/Marketing doesn't really define how a role will be categorised when it comes to awards. For 'The Reader' Kate Winslet won for lead actress at the Oscars, but at the Screen Actor Guild awards she won supporting. Only the one trailer to go by so far. Most scenes Gaga are in with dialogue are shared with Phoenix. Phoenix gets the scene with Steve Coogan, and Brendan Gleeson is one of the cops escorting Joker. He's going to get stuff to do away from Gaga. If she doesn't get some meaningful scenes from her POV away from Phoenix, I can see why they would try for Supporting.
