No. Trump's lies are a daily issue too. 5 hours ago, LordByron28 said: Biden’s “lies” were moreso statements that were partially true but weren’t fully elaborated on. Also those lies are mostly inconsequential to the overall picture and the general gist of the point he was making still stood. At best his lies could be counted as exaggerating statements that were generally true. Trump’s lies were 100 times worse and dangerously so without a single grain of truth to them. Also I’m discussing the NATO press conference where he was there for 50 minutes discussing foreign policy where he was completely sound in mind and had the facts entirely straight. Or the multiple campaign stops he has done before and after where he is delivering speeches. Trump’s lies is not a one time event. These are dangerous and bold lies that are never ending. Also again Trump makes senile, delusional, and out of touch with reality statements on a daily basis. Especially on his campaign stops. No one discusses it because it requires going on social media and watching his rallies. Finally, I stated that CNN spends like 5 minutes of their on-air time discussing Trump’s lies in comparison to like 10 hours for the past 9 days since the debate about Biden’s poor performance. Even ramping up the hysteria by discussing unverified, false and misleading stories about Parkinson’s doctors visiting him. I did not say Trump lied one time, I said the debate is a one time event that CNN talked about, but they cant talk about Trump lies in the debate everyday as its a one time event. CNN talks about other Trump lies on a daily basis, the whole network has been talking about how Trump is a liar for years. I also made it clear there is a difference between Trump and Biden lies, my point was its not CNN's job to debunk their lies during a debate. Trump is clearly not senile or delusional, and he is the least out of touch president in history in my opinion. But he is a narcissistic liar and manipulator that doesnt care about anyone but himself.

If Trump were a normal candidate, with some casual “errors” here and there, it would be possible for an opponent to fact-check them. But how do you do that when your opponent lies approximately six times a minute with no accountability, AND you still have to answer your own questions? There is no way for CNN or Biden to fact check everything Trump says, but thats not even needed, all you need to do is make an argument to why Trump is a liar and a thread to democracy, and give one or two examples. Fact check the important things that are important to the American people and use it against him.

Most dems are freaked out behind the scenes, and it’s leaking in the press on purpose. https://x.com/elistokols/status/1812102525153145007?s=46 Also you misconstrued what I said about Trump deserving to be criticized. He does for all the reasons you mentioned, but Biden’s terrible debate and Dems attempting a mutiny is newsworthy. That’s why it was getting all the attention it did until someone decided to try and shoot Trump dead. There are some backing him and supporting him and some that have reservations on his candidacy. This happened with Obama and Trump too. In 2010, Democrats all abandoned Obama and threw him under the bus resulting in one of the most devastating wipeouts for democrats in recent history during the midterms. The Republican Party has been clutching their pearls about Trump since 2015 while showing public support and backing. It isn’t some grand mutiny or conspiracy. I’m with AOC on this one: https://x.com/AOC/status/1812638396830876160 The Parkinson’s doctor has been visiting the White House for a lengthy period of time predating Biden’s presidency. Trump makes the exact same errors and does the exact same stuff Biden does in terms of speaking, tripping/slipping, confusing which state he is currently in or mixing up the names of world leaders/state governors as well as health concerns due to his age. Again, debates in a professional setting is fact checked during the debate. This has been an on going issue with presidential debates for the past decade in terms of just letting politicians say whatever they please while the moderators just sit there and stare. This issue isn’t a recent development. It’s been an on going complaint that the moderators try but aren’t willing to do what is necessary to actually moderate the debate. Last time someone made an attempt to moderate the debate. Trump argued with the moderator and the moderator sat there and took it rather than muting his mic. The whole world has been saying Biden has issues for years now, to the point where even CNN and huge Democrats are now admitting it, yet people like you still want to deny it. What did Biden lie about? It should be a news organizations diligence and integrity to report factual information not just provide cheap entertainment to make a race look closer than it should be. Moderators in professional debates do fact check and provide actual moderation rather than just let candidates say whatever they please. Biden spent 50 minutes articulating a robust foreign policy strategy and his views on it while being completely coherent and well versed. They spent the entire time discussing a 5 second word flub that he swiftly corrected. As a news organization why aren’t they discussing in brevity the issues and policy that he articulated for 50 minutes rather than spending hours on a 5 second sound bite? Shouldn’t a news organization be providing information and educating the public about foreign policy matters rather than just discussing for hours a 5 second sound bite? Shouldn’t we hold better standards? I have CNN on at work and no coverage is most definitely lopsided. They get a generally off-putting individual complaining about Trump and use them as the standard Trump detractor for all of 5-10 minutes. Lately it has all been fairly dry reporting when it comes to Trump. Meanwhile they’ve spent every hour for the past 10 days discussing Biden’s poor debate performance. Completely neglecting that type of behavior is actually fairly standard for Trump on the campaign trail on a daily basis, it just isn’t reported on and you would have to actually sit through his campaign rallies to witness this. CNN in the past week has been running unverified, false and misleading stories about how a Parkinson’s doctor was visiting the White House for Biden. How Biden’s family is consoling him and most Democratic leadership wants him out of the race. All of which has been proven false but they have run wild with it. He’s been on the campaign trail daily in addition to his own job responsibilities and has been fairly consistently speaking for hours in a coherent manner. He’s certainly older but these gaffes that people are pointing to as signs of senility has been something he has been doing for decades. Even Bernie Sanders agrees: “Look, I saw that debate. It was a terrible performance. No one denies that. But I think too much in America, we look at politics as entertainment, as a contest, trying to judge somebody on their rhetorical abilities. That's not really what politics is or should be about. He had a bad night. The truth is, he makes gaffs all the time. He always has. He's not a particularly great speaker. But what politics is supposed to be about, and what we should be voting up in an election is what is this candidate going to do for me and my family?” “It is true that in my view, Biden has been the strongest president for working class people that we have seen in the modern history of this country.“ “He is cognitively up to it. You know, he is 80 years of age, and that is the reality. No one is hiding that. But do I think he is cognitively capable of leading this country for the next four years? I do. And I would just remind people that being a president is very different than being, you know, a debater or on the campaign trail. Focus on what he has done, focus on what he is trying to do for the next four years, and I think the choice is pretty clear.” https://www.npr.org/2024/07/16/nx-s1-5038066/sen-bernie-sanders-makes-a-case-for-keeping-biden-on-the-democratic-ticket

They are pertinent questions, especially the second one, and just by the by, that second question imo is not something you are likely to hear from a man whose mind is gone. It isn't true to say that CNN never talk about Trump's lies. They do, a lot, although in the case of the debate it seems to me that they have talked about Biden a hell of a lot more than Trump. But I want to leave the debate aside for a moment and talk about a bigger picture, about what's been happening since Jan 6, and I think that's what Biden's second question is about. Before Jan 6 my opinion of Trump was that he was a pos, but politically he had achieved what he had achieved because he had got the votes. I was horrified by that, but ... that's democracy. Then along came the 2020 election and he did the thing that you CANNOT do. He refused to accept the result, and he didn't just refuse to concede, he actually tried to prevent the transfer of power. At that point, imo, he took himself out of the game. The GOP, by nominating him again, have taken themselves out of the game too, but CNN and MSNBC haven't reacted to that as they should. Yes they have called out Trump and the GOP on their lies, but they need to go further imo. They need to state unequivocally that Trump is not a legitimate candidate, that he is a living, breathing enemy of the US and that people should not vote for him. They need to pick a side, forget about balance, forget about both-sidesing, it's a different game now. The GOP and Fox have turned up with guns, grenades, attack dogs and bear spray. And the the Dems and CNN are standing there waving a copy of the constitution. It's giving this meme You're absolutely right Whimsical bitch

Biden's and Trump's performances in the debate were both one-offs in the sense that they have only debated once. Biden's performance raiaed concerns about senility. Trump lied his way through. Neither man was committing his first or last offence. Why are you making a distinction between the two ?
